It is the perfect base for exploring Romney Marsh – a unique corner of England where ’the sky is always three quarters of the landscape’ John Betjaman. Courtside is ½ a mile off a country lane and adjoins the owners’ 16th century farmhouse. It is set in a beautiful garden surrounded by farmland and grazing sheep with far-reaching views south towards the coast and the medieval hilltop town of Rye and west to the slopes of the Saxon shoreline. Ideal location if you're after some peace and quiet. The accommodation was of a really high standard, attractive, clean and very well equipped. Very friendly owners who ensured we had everything we needed for an extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay. If bird watching is one of your hobbies, then this is the place for you, all from the comfort of the lounge sofas.

The perfect cottage to escape the stresses and strains of today's world. Welcoming friendly hosts, everything you could want (including great beds) and a feeling of coming home after being out exploring this unique part of England. The gentle cheeping of the chickens, the wind in the trees and the comforting sense that nothing much has changed in the beautiful landscape all added to a very relaxing holiday. Everything we needed was provided for - thank you for the yummy eggs and plums, milk and pretty flowers - and Sybil and Smidgeon were gorgeous! Well placed for exploring the coast, countryside and some truly stunning churches, and the other-worldliness that is Dungeness.

A well-equipped bungalow in a fairly remote, but accessible location.

Luxurious way to experience Romney Marsh. First rate bathrooms, bedroom and sitting room furnishings, mature, private garden, no neighbours nor passers-by. Owners are there if you want them but not intrusive. A couple of elderly, well behaved dogs and a few decorative hens might amble across the lawn but are not a nuisance. This is a place to relax in comfort, privacy and peace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Courtside. Such a lovely location, beautiful views, and complete tranquility, which is exactly what we were after. Rye is only a few miles away, as is Camber Sands, with Ashford easily accessible within twenty minutes. Courtside has everything you need, and we particularly enjoyed the visits from the two dogs, Sybil and Smidgen, and the chickens! Thank you so much to Sarah & James, who are wonderful hosts, we’ll definitely be back!

We have rented many cottages and Courtside was one of the very best. The cottage and its garden had a lovely ambience. Very well equipped and located close to many interesting sights.

Looking for a peaceful holiday in a rural setting, no traffic noise just the baa of sheep and visits from 3 hens and 2 dogs. Three to clear up after you and two for an affectionate hello. This beautiful cottage is ideally situated for visiting the local area. Everything you need is there just bring your cloths and move in. There is no where in walking distance to eat but the kitchen has all you need to self cater. We visited Sissinghurst, Gt Dixter, and Bodiam Castle and beautiful Rye is just down the road.
