The cottage is in an amazing location for walking and views. If it was updated and given some TLC I would definitely go back to this cottage. It smelt damp , and 2 of the chairs were broken so you were unable to sit in them.please give it some attention as it has so much potential..

Cosy small cottage in good location for walking in the Langdales. Warm and comfortable but a bit cramped inside. Off-road parking description for a small to medium car obviously written by an estate agent - you might just fit a 1960’s Mini in front of the cottage so expect to park nearby

Couter Cottage could do with a bit of an update and a good clean if I'm honest, although everything you needed was provided and it all worked. The bathroom was new and clean, the beds very comfortable and the cottage as warm as could be. The cottage is in an excellent location for exploring the Langdales and on up to Scarfell. Chapel Stile is wonderfully unspoilt and has not been commercialised. It is wonderfully, beautifully quiet, unless you're a light sleeper in which case the church clock will keep you company. The village shop and cafe are well worth using. A good place to spend some down time with plenty of walking on the doorstep.

Cottage is very cramped with too many large pieces of furniture. Could not move around comfortably. No instructions at all about getting the heating or fire working, or in regard to tv, WiFi or location of shower switch. We arrived on a cold very wet day, and it was cold and miserable. There are 7 electrical items working off one socket in the lounge, and the fire exit through the front door was completely blocked by our small car parked outside. This cottage does not have a parking space, this is a complete misnomer.
