Covesea Cottage is a quintessential seaside cottage perched right on the edge of the sea overlooking Kyleakin harbour with hills beyond. Originally a fisherman’s  cottage, this pretty detached stone cottage has been completely renovated and extended in recent years. Accessed by external stone steps, it now provides bright, spacious and modern accommodation for four in a superb setting. The main living area is open plan. The lounge area has deep leather sofas, an open fire and a warm, homely ambience. The kitchen/dining area is separated by a low dividing wall with ship’s wheel providing an interesting focal point, in keeping with the surroundings. Large picture windows look out across the bay. With small fishing boats and craft bobbing in the foreground, the remnants of an historic castle on a wee island in view, and hills and mountains beyond, it is a constantly moving picture - much better than any television can provide! There are two good sized bedrooms and a modern bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. The cottage gardens are a real delight. The owner is an enthusiastic and talented gardener and this is reflected in the lovely shrubs and plants that are interspersed amongst the shingle. South facing and sheltered, it is an ideal spot to sit and admire the views.

Excellent holiday cottage in a first class location. The week we had in Covesea Cottage was first class. Skye has some of the best scenery in Scotland, it also has some of the best seafood in Scotland. I spent many an hour standing with my bino's at the living room window watching the local fishing boats coming and going, also watching the various types of fish farm ships passing up the channel. The cottage has all the equipment required for a homely stay. The Owners were very generous with their welcome pack which included a delicious bottle of wine, shortbread and milk to get you started in the morning. We enjoyed it so much that we have left some places unseen so that we can return next year to Covesea Cottage.

A lovely cottage in a picture book setting. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, even a whirlpool bath. The garden is exquisite and the view is out of this world. Highly recommended. Thank you Shielagh for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage. Ian & Paula.

Perfect location and well equipped with lovely harbour views. The garden was a haven for birds and gave us endless pleasure watching them feeding and are probably the plumpest birds on Skye. It was with regret we had to cut our holiday week short as we had an unforeseen problem at home and had to leave after five days. It would be a pleasure to return sometime. The owner was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Thankyou.

A real home from home only better. All the comforts and gadgets you need. Areal pleasure to come back to after a long day out either driving round the island or walking. We spent a week there and it wasn't long enough. I only rated 6 for amenities at first because Kyleakin thankfully is not very commercial which is just how we liked it but then changed my mind because a Co-op was just back over the bridge or in Broadford 10 mins drive away. The locals are genuinely friendly not just those in a commercial business. The owner of the cottage couldn't have done more to make us welcome.

We had a lovely week at Covesea cottages views beautiful sitting in the lovely little garden so relaxing watching and feeding the birds that came every single day, they loved the fat balls I put out and the bread. It's a lovely place if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break the cottages has everything you need. We would at some time in the future hope to return for another quiet relaxing break. I will tell all our friends it was just what we both needed and more. We met the owners and on our last day she came to see if we had had any problems sadly I myself was out at the time, my husband was in and was able to tell her all was good with the cottage and we had no problems. Such a wonderful place thanks to all the cottage had to offer. Glasgow. Oh and the weather was very kind to us also making our stay even better.

What an absolutely incredible place Covesea is . The view is such a delight and the added bonus of a small garden where you can sit and watch the tide come in and the boats go out. Skye is absolutely stunning and Covesea is an excellent base to explore it. The cottage itself is spotless and everything is catered for. The kitchen is well equipped and little touches like binoculars and a bird book is really thoughtful. But that is just the tip of the iceburg. Ive stayed at smaller , less equipped place which are far more expensive , so value for money is great. Would so love to stay again if we came back to Skye.

We had an amazing stay at Covesea Cottage. the cottage has everything you could ask for and more, they have thought of every little detail. The location is ideal as we hired a car for some of the stay. We also walked across to Kyle of Lochalsh a lovely 35 minute walk. We are already planning our next visit for 2019. We would highly recommend this cottage.

We had a great time in a fantastic cottage. The option on local amenties although we scored it 10 is not really relevant as the cottage is what we are rating. The welcome pack was excellent and very welcome. All communication between ourselves and the owners could not be bettered. All in all the cottage greatly enhanced our first visit to Skye.

We had all home comforts at Covesea cottage. The weather was good and the scenery lovely. It is a great base for exploring the south of the island as well as the mainland, and would highly recommend it. John and Marion
