This semi-detached property is ideal for couples and families. On the ground floor there is a bedroom and bathroom and upstairs is the living room with its wooden floor exposed beams and a wood burner which you can enjoy on winter evenings. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Whilst at Cowper Cottage guests can book private use of the owner’s indoor swimming pool £25 per hour. Cockermouth another bustling market town on the edge of the National Park is famous as the birthplace of William Wordsworth and the house where he was born is certainly worth a visit. A beautiful cottage in a rural setting.

A lovely cosy cottage with modern amenities, very comfortable sofas and beds, although the double was a very small double. Very modern log burner which we had on most nights, and had to open the french doors because it was too hot! Also has central heating radiators. The two bathrooms were very adequate with the power shower being my favourite and the bath was my wife’s choice. In a courtyard with three/ four other properties but this didn’t detract from the remote country feeling. The pool and spa were literally just out the back, although we didn’t use them they seemed very popular. No pubs/ restaurants within easy walking distance but that’s not what we wanted so it was fine with us. All in all a very cosy well thought out cottage.

Lovely , clean cottage. Larger than we expected and had everything we needed. Cockeral can be a bit noisy but we are on a working farm so to be expected. Nearest shops are 3 / 4 miles away for the basics. Lovely beach at Beckfoot for walking the dog.

We will definitely be back loved our time there.

We had a small problem (no light bulbs in all bedside lights) but it was sorted within an hour of informing owner (even tho' he himself was away from the area on holiday). However the wifi within the building worked as far as the router but the master socket/ telephone line wasn't working/ connected so no wifi available. (A neighbour offered connection to his wifi but we had mobile service ourselves so wasn't a problem - really needs fixing tho' as the cottage is advertised as with wifi). Suggest a couple of wooden spoons in the kitchen would be useful as well.

Lovely cottage, enjoyed our stay and would recommend. We would stay here again.

Although this is a beautiful cottage inside, outside is not do welcoming. This cottage is dog friendly but doesn't have a front or back garden to let dogs out. There is no privacy as you're surrounded by the neighbours. The rooms in the cottage are not very private and we kept the blinds closed most of the day which isn't ideal in a heatwave as it got so hot inside. The nearest shop is a couple of miles away which was fine and the beach about 10 mins although to go to a nicer beach you travel further. As our yearly break, I was disappointed with the set up but the cottage itself is lovely if you're not spending a lot of time there.

Excellent stay, great value and great having the option of hiring private pool.Perfect holiday cottage.

Lovely clean cottage with a great fireplace and well equipped. It's on a farm so prepare to be woken by the roosters but the peacock was definitely a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent cottage, well equipped and very clean. It was suitable loacted to nearby ameneties. Every aspect was well thought of and the cottage was well furnished. It was good coming back to the cottage after a day out.

Booked as a last minute getaway, wasn't disappointed at all. Very well set out with all the things that you would want. Both myself, wife and two dogs thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing break.
