We have just returned from our Easter holiday at Cowshed cottage. I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the cottage is. Warm and cosy, comfortable and clean. It is exactly as described on the website, it is simply furnished with a small basic kitchen, but was lovely to find clean modern new kitchen units and hob, and even better to find the dishwasher. Comfortable beds and plenty of storage, and a nice entrance hall . Great location, so easy to get to places. We managed to go up two mountains, down a coal mine, on a canal on a boat, visit two castles, enjoy local cafes, in the lovely town of Abergavenny, my sons aged 13 and 10, really enjoyed the pool on the farm, and made use of the games room, they loved the animals, and they both had a horse riding lesson, on the farm, which was great, would have liked to fitted more lessons but we ran out of time. Our first holiday to Wales, and actually in UK, and we absolutely loved it. Highly recommend. I would say just remember this is a working farm , and very old buildings, so don’t book expecting immaculate accommodation, this is the real deal, and is clearly a well looked after and loved cottage. The owners, are there if you need them, but otherwise, leave you to get on with your holiday.
