The peace, quiet and location were perfect. Small additions could be an oven and grill.

A wonderful place. The owners are fabulous. So friendly and helpful. The cabin was cute and had everything in it we needed. The area is beautiful and the locals couldn’t do enough for us. Whether it was cooking us chips after they had stopped serving to finding a bottle to put the gorgeous cider in to take home!

The parking for the cabin is some distance away the lighting inside is very poor and dark none at all near the Hob and the kitchen utensils are near the entrance to the and are about 40 cm off the floor and as the accommodation is pet friendly this is not the ideal place to have them hanging up .

What can we say the lodge and the place were fantastic it's nice that our dog and other dogs were made welcome. Marian and Peter were excellent hosts and Peter shared the history of the village and the area with lovely stories We cannot stress enough how lovely the place is and would strongly recommend that if you are considering staying there then do it you will not be disappointed Marian and Peter thank you so much for a really really excellent break Dot and Ken Sumner and not forgetting Holly dog - woof

Location was lovely, proprietor was great . Really a new bed and new settee were required .. Bed was too hard for us , solid even ! Settee was uncomfortable for us too - couldn’t sit and relax . Shower was temperamental and would not stay at a comfortable temperature - varying from really cold to scalding !

If you are looking for a bit more comfort than camping, but don't want the lack of independence of a B&B or hotel, and still want some rustic charm, then this accommodation could be for you. There are 2 sweet little timber framed chalets, identical inside and next to each other. You have all the basic amenities you could require, although there is no actual oven, only a small counter top halogen oven, no freezer, and the heating is calor gas. The owners are highly into eco / waste reduction / recycling, and have the appropriate necessary means for garbage disposal. The double bed is extremely comfortable, and we were appreciative of the electric blanket needed throughout our week's stay mid April 2019. However, being right against the wall, it was a little awkward trying to get out from that side during the night. The calor gas heater did a good job of warming up the cabin, although, being as cold as it was, it was necessary to rise early from bed to light it and direct it towards the bathroom. There are plenty of windows allowing beautiful views from 3 sides of the cabin, and chairs outside for you to relax in on your separate patio in the large garden, with the sounds of sheep and birds to accompany your relaxation. Bed linen, towels, tea towels, toilet and shower were all very clean. Gas, electric, heating, wi-fi (pretty decent coverage too) are all included in the price. Mobile phone reception is unlikely to be available, but the whole point of coming somewhere like this is to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and it hits the nail on the head completely in this respect. In order to get to the nearest large town of Newtown, you travel along some very winding roads, up and down the hills, past farms, across open heathland with spectacular scenery. The location is ideal for access across all of mid-Wales. Peter and Marion are eager to accommodate their guests and enjoy a chat and imparting information about the wonderful places to visit in the area. Excellent value for money.
