    Comfort and Equipment

    Value for money

A beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. Definitely worth the money as Cottage is very comfortable, well equipped in a marvellous location

The cottage was in a lovely spot overlooking the valley. The rooms were comfy and the small kitchen proved to be adequate for the level of self catering we had in mind. There is the option to switch off from the world as the phone signal was not available, but the wi fi was very good at providing the link to family and friends when we needed it.

Great property for a break. Views fab.

Lovely little cottage with a gorgeous view which even the tons of rain we had couldn't spoil. Lots of little extras, books, games, DVDs, made it very homely. I couldn't find a grill pan for the cooker and could only find 2 very small baking trays, that is the only reason I have given 9 for equipment, but if your planning on eating out most of the time then it's not a problem. We had a slight hiccup while there but the gentleman from across the road was very friendly and helpful (you are given his name as a contact, we didn't just randomly go knocking on his door!). There is a basket in the kitchen with a few 'items you may have forgotten' too which I think is a fantastic idea. We even got to watch the farmer and his dog herding the sheep one day. All in all, a lovely place I would definitely recommend.

On arrival after 300 miles, we had to drive out to the shop 4 mile away, to buy milk for a cuppa. All other places we have stayed at, left us a small milk as a welcome. The vacuum cleaner was full to the point it was detrimental to the machine. Pub does not open every day for lunch. The kitchen AREA is small as is the cooker. We try not to cook on holiday so no real problem to us. The notice of bin collection days was in the cupboard out of sight. With not always warm days & not particularly cold nights, the comfort was much better than basic. A bottles bin is there (Full) but no note of where to take YOUR bottles? PARKING is fraught with danger. Some cars/M bikes came around the bend at speed. Not enough room to park on the verge at the corner and with little room to spare, backing in through the gates took time to get used to. Not so bad in good visibility, yet a car or bike bearing down on you, does not help much. Apart from this particular point, we enjoyed the stay immensely.

A unique cottage, being a cricket pavilion transplanted from the Northumbrian coast, hence the lack of a flat field in front, rather a spectacular valley view. Although we were warned, the steps from the road to the front door came as a surprise so if you are elderly or infirm this is a serious consideration. The local amenities are basically non existent within a couple of miles, but Bellingham only 3 miles away has every kind of shop necessary to provide everything you will need

Fantastic cottage in beautiful location. Recommended for wildlife viewing and lovely walks. Very cosy cottage with incredible views, had a fabulous family holiday.

Peaceful location and allowed us to reconnect as a family. Cottage has everything you could want. Great location, we visited Kielder twice, Jedburgh, Cragside, Housteads, Hexham and Bellingham. Loved our neighbours (the sheep). No phone signal was not an issue as there is WiFi in the property. Lots of little extras in the cottage to make it possible to relax from the start. Would highly recommend to any family wanting to relax, reconnect and explore.

views are excellent and lots of wild life to enjoy in the peaceful surroundings with many walks and sites to discover.
