Craven Cottage is a beautifully appointed Derbyshire property located in Middleton-By-Wirksworth, a pretty village where old limestone cottages climb along the single street, typical of an old mining community, with wonderful walks from just outside your door! Step inside the cottage and enjoy the welcoming, light, open-plan living. The comfortable living area with underfloor heating also has a wood burner should the evenings be a bit chilly, whilst the dining area has a large dining table and a beautiful, contemporary, well-equipped kitchen. On the first floor, a beautiful bathroom can be found with both a spacious free standing slipper foot bath and a separate shower cubicle. On this floor you will also find two single rooms with wonderful interior design, whilst up on the second floor there is a large master bedroom with Velux windows and some wonderful views - perfect for star gazing! Outside the cottage you will be spoilt for choice with three areas to enjoy, the pretty front garden and side garden with seating areas along with the rear tiered garden to enjoy.
The nearby town of Wirksworth (approx. a mile away) can be found boasting a number of independent shops, quintessential pubs and independent restaurants, providing ample opportunity for a night on the town. The town is also home to a historic church, the quirky Ecclesbourne railway and museum, leaving you spoilt for choice with so much to see. Also nearby is StarDisc, carved into the black granite is a star chart that reflects the northern hemispheres night sky. Or visit Black Rocks, which involves a short but steep climb to reach some incredible views over the surrounding area or embark on a scenic hike along the High Peak Trail, which can be picked up just behind the cottage, to High Peak Junction and Leawood Pump House. At the Crich Tramway Village, step back in time as you admire the large collection of vintage vehicles and take a ride on a tram. Head into Matlock Bath (approx. 4 miles away) for a ride on the Heights of Abraham Cable Cars and an underground tour of the caverns and fossil museum. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and a pleasant walk along the River Derwent which flows through Matlock Bath and Matlock.
The theme park of Alton Towers is only 30 minutes drive away, whilst the historians amongst you should be sure to check out the 18th century Cromford Mills, a World Heritage Site.
