• About Crescent Cottage

Explore all that Loch Lomond has to offer from this pretty property, set in the village of Luss.

This charming, detached, Grade II listed cottage is situated in the historic village of Luss, on the banks of Loch Lomond. The village, dating from the 18th century, with its sandstone and slate cottages, became the setting for the successful TV soap Take the High Road. It is ideally located for exploring the stunning surroundings of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. A popular destination with walkers and cyclists, the area boasts a magnificent diversity of scenery with lochside beaches, dramatic peaks, waterfalls, hidden caves and mysterious, forest covered slopes within walking distance of the property, with the West Highland Way and Ben Lomond only a short distance away, offering challenges for all abilities. The village has direct access to the 17-mile long West Loch Lomond cycle path, as well as a range of local walks from flat and gentle to challenging mountain hikes. Across the Loch is the village of Balmaha, with its sandy coves and marina, it is perfect for a day out for all the family, by road or directly from the village pier by water bus. Cruises, speed boat hire and fishing are also available from the pier, and leisurely trips along the water allow for a relaxing way to take in the scenery and unspoiled surrounding islands. The village offers seasonal Scottish fine dining at its two hotels, and relaxed dining at two bistros, a coffee shop and the local smokehouse. Other villages nearby include Arrochar and Balloch. There are two five star golf and spa resorts 20 minutes from the property where visitors can enjoy a range of fine dining, including a michelin star restaurant, day spa packages and championship level golf courses, as well as a trip in a resident seaplane. Loch Lomond Shores, again a short distance from the property, offers designer shopping, restaurants, local farmers markets, loch cruises, water sports including kayaking and jet skiing, and a sea life aquarium. The cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are easily accessible by car and boast award winning restaurants, theatres, galleries, concert venues and designer shopping, as well as many tourist attractions, including the breathtaking Edinburgh Castle. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Did not realise coach loads of tourists would be looking in the windows daily and trying to get into the garden to take pictures

The most beautiful cottage in one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever been to! The owner was a lovely lady who couldn’t help you enough! And the welcome Prosecco in the fridge went down a treat!!

Kitchen and definitely the bathroom could do with a bit updating which I appreciate is hard when the property is fully booked. Could also do with some wire mesh putting round the bottom of hedges so it is secure for even small dogs. But cute cottage in a great location for exploring this part of Scotland.

Great situation just minutes from the loch. Very well equipped. Wonderful comfy beds. Private parking. Very cosy. Great dog friendly restaurant just a few doors away. Only suggestion would be a grab rail at the back door as the steps are quite high for anyone with walking difficulties. ?

We had a lovely week in this cottage, lovely location, cottage very comfortable, single glazed windows, due to being listed, so can hear people out side, the village gets a lot of tourists, and with shop facing you do hear all the people outside, the cottage is very well equipped and has every thing you need, and a nice enclosed garden, also parking at the rear of the cottage, but you do get people parking outside the front of the cottage. We went at end of January so, not to busy, summer would be very busy.

Lovely clean, comfortable and warm cottage. Luss is an excellent base for seeing the local area, which is absolutely beautiful. The village is very friendly with shops and cafes within easy reach and the Loch views are stunning. Would happily recommend the cottage.
