    Comfort and Equipment

    Value for money

    out of 10

Spacious downstairs, cramped upstairs with intrusive roof slopes. Kitchen equipment is good, but limited quantity of cups and cutlery. Shower is very good. Heating problematic, woodburner great when lit, but not enough kindling to light up. One electric radiator not enough when woodburner is out. WiFi hardly usable - restricted signal strength and very slow. TV basic aerial. Quite deep stone steps down from the car parking area.

Crofter's Barn is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. It is beautifully maintained and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay there.

Great location for the countryside and the cycle route. Good value for money the week we were there. Nice cream tea on arrival. The WiFi is very very poor though because it’s broadcast from the property next door. You can get connected stood in the garden but that’s about it. The ceilings upstairs are low and getting in and out the bath is tricky because of this. I didn’t personally find the bed or sofas that comfortable either but that may be personal preference. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were great. It’s a shame the bike store is now a log store and the access to the barn was down 3 steep steps (not great with a large bike). All in all the cottage was perfectly fine for the week we were there but it was a little annoying about the lack of WiFi when it was advertised as having it.

Loved the barn it was so peaceful, well equipped and had a log burner which was very relaxing to watch. The owners were very welcoming and when we arrived they had left us fresh scones, home made jam and clotted cream which was scrummy. The area the accommodation is situated in is beautiful and picturesque. We struggled a little as we are both tall and the upstairs had sloping ceilings so we had to walk a bit lop sided.

This is our second stay, lovely cosy cottage on the doorstep to Dartmoor. Tavi stock is a short drive away, lovely market town.

We have stayed at Crofters Barn twice now - and will return again. It is in a lovely location with friendly hosts next door. The lack of phone signal and internet and restricted height upstairs are a slight downside but outweighed by the plusses !

We had a wonderful week in Crofter's Barn, the cottage had everything we needed, and was so cosy and peaceful as well as being spotlessly clean! It isn't within walking distance of any amenities but we loved the peace & quiet and being surrounded by nature so this didn't bother us at all. The woodburner was great, especially as the weather was rather chilly, and it was a real home away from home, would definitely return!
