Loved the garden, which is reflected in the overall rating. Could have used some more comfortable garden seating though as we wanted to spend our days enjoying the garden. Minor items like obviously old cobwebs and blinds not working were a niggle, but really liked the property and would return. Many thanks Michelle and Darron

Overall a reasonably good holiday cottage choice. Be aware that it is a very old property and as you would expect is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues; the stairs, which are steep and turn would be difficult. Generally all necessary equipment etc was there, although the garden furniture was very limited and not in keeping with the cottage. Being an old property you cannot escape many cobwebs and the spiders that go with them and there were some woodlice on the carpets when we arrived. Generally some of the cottage could do with some TLC so be aware!! (e.g. hole in kitchen door that would allow a small visitor such as a mouse to visit!!) Garden very big but in need of TLC. We were happy with location as we know the area well but the nearest facilities of any sort are Bere Regis or further afield in Wareham, Dorchester or Poole. Owner was very flexible with start and finish dates due to not being booked just before we arrived which was appreciated. Would we book again? Not sure but on balance a fair choice, and we weren't too bothered by some of the aspects above as we are used to a rural property.

We had a lovely weekend stay in the cottage - 5 adults and 4 dogs. The weather was beautiful so we spent most of the time in the large, natural and peaceful garden. The cottage is located in a lovely little village. There are no amenities in the village, but as we knew that, we took all the groceries and supplies we needed. (Tescos is only 10 minutes away for emergency milk). Its also a great location to explore Dorset, and about 30 minutes from the coast. A great find and definitely recommended for families and small groups.

It was an ideal property with a lovely garden with lots of birds, bats and a vole. It was very well equipped although I would have liked a pint of milk in the fridge in order to have a cup of tea when we arrived, especially as no village shop nearby. A lovely place to stay.

The cottage was lovely. It was large and characterful. We were surprised and pleased by the high quality of furniture, fixtures and fittings. It was truly home from home. The garden is undoubtedly a real feature of this property. It is not only large and well fenced, which was good for our dog, but it was also beautifully turned out and maintained. The only issue that was disappointing was that the only amenitie in the village was the pub that was closed. But it has now opened I believe. All together a great stay.

Wonderful very old cottage with rustic charm. Easy off road parking. House has been tastefully updated but retains its quirky history. Huge secure gardens which we enjoyed with the dogs. Good quality furnishings and very comfortable beds. Bountiful array of well signed walks from the village. Central location to explore local area. Village pub is due to reopen early April which will be a bonus.

The best word for Crofters Cottage is quirky. All the downstairs rooms are in a straight line across the back of the cottage. The kitchen is large and well equipped, The adjacent sitting room has very comfortable seating for four people and a large television. Next to it is the dinning room, with the stairs off to the left. It is a spiral staircase with some very narrow steps and no proper hand rail although there are plenty of places to hold on to something. It was difficult to get cases up the stairs.Through the dinning room to the second sitting room which we did not use and beyond that is the utility room with a fridge freezer and a toilet off. Upstairs three bedrooms the master bedroom is massive but contains no wardrobe hanging space is in the very large bathroom with wardrobes that run into one another, More hanging and shelf space than you could ever want. There was always a plentiful supply of hot water.the third bedroom was the smallest but still an adequate size. We would certainly stay there again

Lovely spacious cottage. Easy parking. We relaxed in front of a log fire in one of the sitting rooms. The bed was really comfortable with good quality linen. A very cosy place to stay. Huge garden, which the dogs really enjoyed, and had it been a warmer time of year, we would have spent a lot more time in it.

Beautiful cottage, very clean and well placed for all the surrounding areas. A very good, decent sized garden which was ideal for our dogs. I would recommend The Bottany Bay pub for good food and a good atmosphere.

This is a new holiday rental which showed in the lack of equipment in the kitchen and also a few other things that we've made the owner aware of. Also the pub is permanently closed until they find someone to buy it, very disappointing not to have been advised of this as it has been shut since early January! The cottage itself and location is good, just need to tweak the bits we've mentioned and also let people know the pub isn't open.
