Set close to the heart of Exmoor National Park, Crooked Post is a great place to get away from it all with family or friends. Situated on the owner’s working farm, this well-appointed, detached house offers great amounts of living space both inside and out. The large kitchen with a dining area is ideal for sociable gatherings, and the formal dining room gives you the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The snug living room, with its wood burner, is the ideal place to sit and unwind. Outside there is a large covered patio with a pool table and then to top it all off, the large terrace area has a hot tub with uninterrupted views out across Exmoor. There are some great walks onto the moor directly from the house. Crooked Post is set between the villages of North Molton and Withypool. Both villages have a pub and well-stocked local shops. For a wider range of amenities, the local market town of South Molton is worth a visit.
There is plenty to see and do during your holidays. Tarr Steps and Dunkery Beacon are within easy reach of the cottage. The town of Dulverton is a short drive away and offers a wider range of shops, restaurants and other amenities. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coast Path, and many places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the National Trust’s Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops, other amenities and the renowned West Somerset Steam Railway. A visit to the enchanting medieval National Trust Dunster Castle, with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and watermill will make for an interesting day out. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Beach 20 miles. Shop 4¾ miles, pub ½ mile and restaurant 8 miles.
