Stayed here over Xmas, very well equipped and clean. Communication with the hosts was great all week when we needed assistance. There is some beautiful walks nearby for dogs. However, we didn't use the hot tub as it was quite dirty and had mud and leaves inside, the bottom oven didn't work, there was no WiFi all week, no hoover, and on the last night we were there the downstairs flooded due to the rain. If everything was in working order it would have been perfect! Would stay again if these bits were sorted!

This is a lovely place and the owner stayed in touch well. It’s a bit old fashioned and could be updated, however this did not effect our stay. A few leaks with the bad weather and no outside front lighting so hard to find in the dark. Also the main front door didn’t lock, however there was another door that did lock. The surroundings are amazing and the hot tub was the reason we booked. The house was lovely and enough room for all. The pool table was worn but useable however only one cue had a tip and no chalk available. This could possibly be better inside the dining room as there is another dining area in the kitchen. We spent most of our time in the kitchen. Overall I would stay again for the right price. I’d say if you don't expect it to be too modern you will love it’s traditional style.

Lovely location which will definitely be visited again! However the cottage itself, left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, the keys weren’t where we’d been told they would be, we were unable to obtain any contact with the host, eventually got into the property at half 11 at night. We were unable to use the stand in shower room, because of a leak, the washing machine and dishwasher did not work. The electric oven - only the top oven would work. When opening windows to the room we were staying in, flies fell from the outside window straight into the room. The porch, which led to the pool table, was flooded, and there was mould growing not only on the outside, but on the inside of house as you walked up the stairs. Honestly has the potential to be such a beautiful property with the amazing surrounding views, however I understand the property is currently up on the market ‘For Sale’, which may be why the place isn’t being maintained, but if this is the case the amount charged to stay should be lowered due to the problems stated above. Like I say, would we return to Sandyway? ABSOLUTELY! Would we return to this cottage, no.

I really enjoyed my stay at Crooked Post. There were a few disappointing factors which affected my overall score, 1 , there was no bathroom soap/shower gel, 2, there was no hairdryer on the premises 3, the washing machine did not work. Otherwise, the accommodation was as I was expecting. I was not expecting a good Telephone signal, so was not disappointed.

We booked this house for our summer holiday and sadly were very disappointed. While the house is stunning, it needs a lot of care. We booked it for the hot tub and pool room. The hot tub was not ready till nearly the end of our week and sadly the pool table was wet through. Outdoor furniture had been left uncovered and we could not use them. Sadly the list is endless.
