Nice village. House had all amenities but was poorly decorated and very dated. Garden wasn't secure for dogs. Property was right on main road with constant traffic noice.

Location on the main street is very noisy with lorries, land rovers and motorbikes (not that the helpful landlord can do anything about that, especially as it's summer!). The bedroom and lounge are at the front of the cottage facing out to the road, which doesn't help with noise levels. The cottage does have everything you need for self catering and was clean and tidy on arrival. However the décor is a little tired, and it is a small cottage for two people and a dog! The bath is also half sized and not really conducive to a relaxing soak! In the bedroom, we could hear the neighbours chatting (albeit quietly but still a little intrusive). Overall, a little disappointing. I wouldn't stay in this cottage again and would try to find something away from the main street.....

Stayed for 2 weeks with my girlfriend in June. We experienced all kinds of weather from a sudden heatwave to torrential downpours but either way we loved Newtonmore & the Highlands and always found things to do. We drove all over the area but also made use of the train station close by to travel to Inverness & also Aviemore so I could sample some liquid refreshments at the brewery! Newtonmore is very friendly & we enjoyed the wild cat trail & also hunting for model cats a little more than 2 grown adults probably should! :) The cottage was perfect for our needs right in the centre & within easy reach of pubs & the Letterbox which is a very nice restaurant. The cottage was clean, with a great garden & open fireplace. My only concern when booking was the lack of a dedicated parking spot or driveway but I'm so glad I didn't let this rule it out as we never had an issue parking on the road & managed to park directly opposite the cottage everytime bar once in 2 weeks.

A lovely wee cottage in an ideal highland location. Arrived, for a long weekend of walking, to a spotlessly clean cottage, with a log-fire ready to light, what more could you want, perfect!

Very cosy cottage in the heart of the village. Plenty of walks and stunning scenery. Shops and cafes on the doorstep. Lovely extras like wine, biscuits, tea and coffee. Great enclosed and safe garden for the dog and parking outside. Liked the Scottish touches throughout and the log fire. We enjoyed a lovely few days spent here.

We had another lovely break at Cruachan. The weather was mixed so it was so nice to put the fire on and relax with a glass of wine. We have two dogs so we spent our days exploring and walking the dogs. We had some difficulty with our car during the visit and Andrew, the owner, could not have been more helpful. The cottage has everything you need and Newtonmore is a lovely little town. We ate at the Glen and would definitely recommend a visit.
