What a quirky and compact property, there was everything you needed and the views from surrounding areas are beautiful. Ideal for a cosy weekend for 2

I had a wonderful time at Betty. The neighbours even looked after my dog for the to allow me to attend a wedding. I’ll definitely be back. Wonderful place, wonderful people. Just what I needed

The hut was beautiful and so much fun to stay in but there were a few downsides. The mattress on the bed was old, could feel the squares/springs in my back. At one point the hut became too hot with the log burner (which is not the issue) so opened the window in the bedroom area and thought to get a bit of a breeze through would open the bathroom window, on doing so ALOT of flies had been nesting in the window ledge and came out, so i had to spend the next 30-45mins trying to deal with them. I was going to tell someone the next morning as this happened on my first night, but never saw anyone. Noone came to check we had got in ok, there was no emergency numbers or a booklet in the hut with local information etc that most cottages and huts leave.

Very quiet relaxing 3 days, warm and cosy inside. Ideal walks for the dog, lovely to watch the birds feeding.Only downside is the track leading up to Betty....had to keep to one side of the track to stop car from grounding out....definitely will be returning next year.

Cumberland Betty is beautiful - clean & sweet but not the best for two 50-somethings with bad backs & 2 dogs! We love the Lakes and it is handy for Coniston & Grizedale but we couldn't find anywhere nearby nice to eat - nor was there any info provided about local amenities or walks. This would be a great romantic escape for a young couple but we felt over priced for the location. A shame, but we have tried it!
