Set in a magical clearing in 10 acres of private ancient woodlands on the Berkshire and Hampshire border close to Newbury, are these four unique and beautifully presented glamping properties.
Daisy (UKC5927) and Bluebelle (UKC5928) glamping pods are small and cosy vintage style cabins. Bedouin (UKC5929) and Moroccan (UKC5930) are huge six metre double door bell tents. Each has a private shower room right next door, an outdoor kitchen with gas stove and barbecue, and decked seating area. They each have double beds and z-beds (suitable for children only), fridge, electricity, heating and everything you need for a self-catering stay. The properties share a sheltered seating area and large brick-built firepit to gather round in the evening. Guests have full access to the private woodland to explore, where you can see lots of wildlife and where children can build camps, play on the tyre swing and collect fallen wood for the fire pits.
You can enjoy the open countryside right on the doorstep where you can explore on foot or by bike. The local village has a shop, post office, three pubs within walking distance and a village market at the end of each month. Whether you want to chill out in the calming and peaceful woodland or use as a base to explore the beautiful area and all its attractions, this is the perfect place to stay! Close by is Highclere Castle, also known as where Downton Abbey was filmed, and is open to visitors. Beacon Hill is a great place to see the burial site of Lord Carnarvon, known for discovering and opening the tomb of Tutankhamun and have wonderful views of the castle, Watership Down and the remains of an Iron Age hill fort.
For family fun, there is Four Kingdoms adventure farm park and National Trust’s The Chase, a 150-acre nature reserve. Newbury is within easy driving distance and boasts a great racecourse for those who like a flutter on the horses and an abundance of shops and eateries. For more of an adult day out, Bombay Sapphire Distillery is close by where you can partake in various tours and tastings experiences. For something a little different, why not take a narrowboat trip up the canal, part of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust. Pub and restaurant 2 miles.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 20 guests.
