Bedale is a thriving market town with plenty to offer right on the doorstep. Guests will find themselves spoilt for choice when deciding on where to stop for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Quaint restaurants and tea shops line the high street, alongside local pubs and restaurants as well as an ice cream shop and old fashioned sweet shop. There is a weekly farmers market on a Tuesday that offers a variety of stalls with local produce, art and gifts as well as a popular auction house, shops and boutiques.
A perfect location for walkers, ramblers and cyclists wanting to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, there are many established public footpaths that lead directly from the town and then further on into the countryside. The Heritage Trail is a popular walk and passes many of the town’s historic Georgian buildings. Follow the beckside footpath past the weir to the old canal basin which is a real wildlife haven.
