We were a little disappointed with our stay in this cottage. Previous reviews had been excellent which was the main reason we choice it in the first place. However, most of the past reviews are from some while back and I rather suspect, as is a natural occurrence, that the cottage décor etc. has become rather tired and shabby in more recent times. Having said that, it was pretty well equipped with both a dishwasher and a washing machine, a good quality TV and a fairly new fridge - as well as a separate fridge/freezer! The heating was also very efficient once we'd worked it out! But the biggest problem - and the one people should be aware of - is that it is simply NOT suitable for those with mobility issues or possibly very young children. This is mainly due to the very narrow, steep staircase that also incorporates a slight twist: I myself have mobility issues (though thankfully I was able to just about cope with these stairs and also the rather uncomfortable bed in the master bedroom.) The holiday companies renting this cottage really do need to make this clear to those looking to book. The cottage is old and therefore rather uneven in places and includes some steps in part, as well as two flights of difficult stairs. The upstairs bathroom could really do with a refit unfortunately - the condition of the bath being extremely uninviting. Please be aware that these are not complaints about the property, merely observations - it cannot be classed as top quality accommodation unfortunately. However, on the whole, it is the perfect place - especially if you have quite a few guests and need to make use of all 3 bedrooms (we didn't have that situation, being only a couple.) It is also just a stone's throw from an extremely pleasant pub where we had a very nice meal one evening - their menu choices and service were excellent and we'd have liked to have gone more often in truth. And, for that alone, it's probably worth a stay!
