No smoking.\n Situated on a 100-acre working farm bordering the Brendon Hills this attached 17th century cottage has been completely renovated to a good standard. Situated between the Exmoor National Park Blackdown Hills and the Quantocks on this SomersetDevon border it is ideally placed for that ’away from it all’ holiday as well as being central for exploring north and south Somerset Devon and Exmoor. Raddington is 2 miles away which is where the film ’Land Girls’ was filmed. Dunster Castle Wimbleball Lake Water Park Knightshayes Court and the West Somerset Steam Railway are all worth visiting.     People booking the cottage will understand that it is on a working farm, and comes across as a nice farm cottage, but with plenty of space, friendly helpful hosts, internet that works beautifully, and so on. So it makes up in lots of ways for a little less elegance than some properties. It does, however, have glasses the right size for sherry (a rarity), as well as wine glasses and tumblers. It is very quiet and peaceful, and, though approached by a road that has very few passing opportunities for the last few hundred yards, the chances of having to reverse are pretty low. For those who want to eat out the Rock Pub is not far, but once we were in at night we were more inclined to cook for ourselves (Wiveliscombe has an excellent butcher etc.).

    It was very comfy and cosy and clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful with local places to visit. Although it’s situated in the middle of the country it was perfect for shutting out the world for a much needed break. Would highly recommend the cottage and will be looking to book again in the future.

    We enjoyed our holiday in Somerset in spite of the unseasonal amount of rain. Instructions to find the village of Chipstable and Denhill Cottage were excellent; the hosts very helpful and the cottage itself well equipped and more than adequate for a holiday. Would recommend it to anyone!
