    A spacious house in an ideal location for visiting the Peak District. Easy walks from the front door. Welcoming pub next door- doesn’t disturb your stay. Unfortunately local shop no longer exists and church wasn’t open during our Christmas stay. Plenty of hot water and warm heating. Cleanliness needs a little attention as well as a few ‘jobs’ around the house. Owner very pleasant and addressed our queries almost immediately.

    The house is in a good location. Unfortunately during our stay we had a water leak through the kitchen ceiling. There was no response from the emergency contact number provided, but the owner did come round that morning and got a plumber out in the afternoon. The end result was still that it was still not safe to use the shower, as it has no shower curtain and we were advised that the leak could reoccur if we used the overhead shower in the family bathroom so the other adults in our party had to use the shower in the ensuite in the main bedroom, which was far from ideal and not acceptable. Cooking equipment needs improving and we had difficulty in getting the oven on until we found one setting that worked. Also there is a tv in the second smaller lounge but it is unusable as the aerial connection had been removed.

    Lovely cottage and garden. Very well equipped. Facilities were good but the dishwasher wasn’t working. Was very clean and comfortable. Had a lovely week staying in this cottage with 9 people and 3 dogs.

    Good sized property but for the money I find it difficult to recommend. The furniture in tree lounge is worn and uncomfortable to sit on. Main double bed looks good but for some reason Sagging in the middle which mean someone had to sleep in one of the single beds. Decorations in the house look in need of a bit of paint and filing in most rooms. If you have a shower or bath for one person its a 1 hour wait for the boiler to heat up again. Front gate look good for dog owners as nice and high but the hinges have gone and my wife was unable to lift the gate to try and close it. Garden is a good size and nice to walk around with a view of the hills. Patio furniture didn’t looks very robust so didn’t use it which was a shame on a nice sunny day. Location near pup is great and you can have a meal and drink without worrying about driving.
