Good sized property but for the money I find it difficult to recommend. The furniture in tree lounge is worn and uncomfortable to sit on. Main double bed looks good but for some reason Sagging in the middle which mean someone had to sleep in one of the single beds. Decorations in the house look in need of a bit of paint and filing in most rooms. If you have a shower or bath for one person its a 1 hour wait for the boiler to heat up again. Front gate look good for dog owners as nice and high but the hinges have gone and my wife was unable to lift the gate to try and close it. Garden is a good size and nice to walk around with a view of the hills. Patio furniture didn’t looks very robust so didn’t use it which was a shame on a nice sunny day. Location near pup is great and you can have a meal and drink without worrying about driving.

Great Location to explore Derbyshire. Good sized property to accommodate groups. The cleanliness is what let’s this cottage down and the attention to detail on the small things e.g light bulbs working, TV remote batteries working, possibly the addition of a bin in the bathroom, heated towel rail. We felt the property had not had a clean between occupants. The furnishings are also looking a little tired. Otherwise a comfortable stay in a great location.

Second time we have visited. Cottage has all the space we needed for a large group. Kitchen could be equipped better as there is not enough cooking dishes and some are desperate for upgrade such as frying pan. However we would book again as the location is great with easy access to Buxton and local walks and cottage is cosy and warm. Overall it’s one of our favourite places to stay at.

Large cottage with plenty of room for 10 adults. Well situated for walking in the West side of the peaks.

Overall this was a lovely place to say with plenty of room, indoor and outside, for the whole of my family (7 adults, 3 under 3s and a puppy) The location was great. Close to places of interest in Derbyshire and next door to the local pub. The pub next door was owned by the same family so they were very accommodating, which was greatly appreciated, and there was no noise. The only negative was that some of the ammenities (mircowave, nespresso) were not working or not 100% effective (fridge). That being said everything else was brilliant. Comfortable beds, great shower, and it was lovely and warm in the recent cold weather. I would recommend to others with the caveat of the minor hiccups that were only a problem due to having to sterilise things for young babies. Thank you very much

Great for families with an enclosed garden ideal for children. Owner had provided milk and fresh cooked bread on arrival. Really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was adequate but a bit tired. In a great location with lots to do within easy reach. Fantastic enclosed garden for the dog. 10 would be a squeeze, even 8 at the table would be tight. Lovely welcome pack with basic essentials. Lots of milk, butter, packet to make your own bread and a tray of cupcakes. Lots of crockery and glasses but very lacking in cooking equipment. Baking trays need replacing as do wok and Paella pan as everything sticks. No lids for saucepans. Oven shelves not very clean and not a practical layout to cook. Cooker in a cupboard with no extractor so gets very smoky and steamy. Downstairs toilet difficult to flush. Upstairs toilet comes away from the wall. Mould in bathroom and en suite. We had a comfortable stay but unfortunately we wouldn't return.

Had great holiday. Accommodation good. Location very good for days out. However didn’t check beforehand to see if there were any amenities within walking distance. Just a pub. The accommodation would benefit from a shower in the main bathroom.
