    The cottage was a great surprise to us, on arrival there was a welcome pack of all the necessary cleaning materials plus 2 bottles of soft drink and milk in the fridge. The kitchen made cooking our meals very easy as it is sensibly kitted out. We would describe the cottage as warm, clean and homely. We would have no hesitation in returning if we had another break in the Worthing area. Cottage.com has yet again scored 5 stars with us.

    Well equipped and lovely clean house, everything necessary provided plus a few welcome extras. The village of Rustington has all the amenities you could want, supermarkets, butchers, chemists,local shops and plenty of places to eat/takeaway all a short walk away and the beach is about a mile from the house. The house backs onto a park which was handy for walking the dog. It is on a estate but it's very quiet and the neighbours are really friendly. Yes the floor boards do creak in the back bedroom (we used the front) and the duvet was a bit thin

    It was a great surprise to us that the holiday location was in the middle of a housing estate, the path towards the front door was broken and therefore made it difficult for my 91 Mother to negotiation. The interior was very dull and beige, the carpets badly needed a clean, inside of the washing machine rubber rim was black with mould. We had to ring the manager because there was no heating or hot water, after a while we located the cupboard which had the switch in (it was locked) another call gave us the code. The bathroom had a number of small black insects on the floor (looked like wood lice) and the floor was dirty especially around the edges. The garden was very un-kept with a broken mirror on the back fence which was very dangerous. The television was a nightmare, the instructions left did not make sense so could not be used. However, the neighbours either side were very nice and helpful.

    On arrival the house smelled stale and slightly dusty. The garden patio and furniture was covered in clumps of moss that had fallen off the roof and had been there for some weeks. The grass had also not been cut for weeks and was quite long. It appeared to me that the house had not been looked at since last occupant and that certainly no one had checked house prior to our booking. The amenities in house are great and is very comfortable, however the restrictions for pet not being able to go on chairs or go into bedrooms in welcome pack are not in cottages .com description of property and I probably would not have booked had I been aware. I have booked other properties where owners offer covers for chairs or advise to take your own covers. Many dogs will not settle in a strange house unless close to owners and my dog was unhappy constantly going up and down the creaking stairs all night disturbing my sleep as he could only be in hallway or kitchen at night. The stairs and bedroom floors are incredibly noisy, creaking and cracking when you walked on them and were quite annoying. Add the request of owner that as it is a quiet area you respect the neighbours by keeping the noise down I spent to much time considering their needs rather than relaxing and enjoying break. The neighbours are extremely friendly and the local area has everything you need in shops food beach, etc. Apart from the floors which would need a builder my other concerns are easily rectifiable and I would book again if changed for as previously stated it is comfortable with great amenities and the area is great.
