This authentic, detached timber lodge offers the perfect ingredients for a romantic and relaxing break on the lower slopes of Blencathra, one of the most impressive fells in the Lake District National Park. Situated on a working beef and sheep farm this cute lodge was designed with couples in mind. It comes complete with a south-facing outdoor patio area with garden furniture, which makes it a great place to soak up the sun, and offers the seclusion and privacy your romantic break deserves. The ground floor is all open plan and has a well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar, which overlooks a cosy living room with a comfortable two-seater sofa and flatscreen TV. Just off the living room is a small but high spec shower room. Upstairs, you will find a cosy bedroom with timber beams and a feature bed. Your pets are welcome to stay, so no need to wave goodbye to those sad puppy eyes when you go on holiday, bring them along too!

Threlkeld is a small village just off the A66, which is the main route between Penrith and Keswick. Almost directly opposite is Keswick Golf Club, so if you fancy a round while you’re away, you could not be much closer. The quaint village of Scales, along with a couple of local pubs offering great food and local cask ales, is just a mile away. The lodge is just 5 miles from the vibrant Lake District town of Keswick, which is brimming with great restaurants, pubs serving local craft ales, an excellent range of shopping experiences and some memorable tourist attractions. If you fancy something a bit different, then why not visit The Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil. Also within easy reach is Puzzling Place, which is full of mind-boggling optical illusions. If you like culture, you could try the Theatre by the Lake, with its enviable position on the shores of Derwentwater, which offers award-winning performances in drama and arts.

If you like walking or cycling, you are surrounded by some of the most challenging fells in the area, as well as a number of less challenging walking routes suitable for people who like sightseeing without the strain. Keswick is at the northern end of Derwentwater, one of the area’s iconic lakes, and offers a great base and starting point for many an adventure. You can tick off a few of Wainwright’s 214 Lakeland Fells, including Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn within a few miles’ radius. Whatever the reason for your visit, Harrison’s Lodge offers a great base, inspiring surroundings and a touch of quirkiness to make your next Lake District getaway one to remember. Shop 4½ miles, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1¼ miles.

Fabulous little lodge in an ideal location for enjoying the Lake District. Equipped with everything you need and very clean and tidy. Had a lovely weekend break away and would definitely recommend. Hoping to go back in the not too distant future.

Nice comfortable lodge. Stairs not good to get up and down - very steep with sharp turn. Anyone six foot or more is guaranteed to bang their head at least once every day upstairs due to low beams. No amenities close enough by to walk to except for one pub. The shower was a complete mystery to work out with no instructions and was very slippery to stand up in. Having said all that, we would use this lodge again. 😊

Lovely place to stay and everyone so friendly and helpful. Perfect location for getting out and about with the beautiful town of Keswick a few mins away. The lodge was well equipped, very clean and nicely furnished. Relaxed atmosphere and our dog made welcome. Superb value for money.

Its is a lovely place and a great location Lucy was really helpful unfortunately the older lady i found out was one of the owners was not approachable and was rude to lucy after she helped A customer out and obviously did not realize she could be heard having a go. Not very professional But lucy was really nice and the place and location were spot on.

A great little place to stay. Exactly what we were looking for, close to the part of the lakes we wanted. Able to walk directly from the cottage to sharp edge.

We left after 2days as I struggled with the stairs,it should be mentioned when booking that the stairs are very steep and angled.

The lodge was cosy and well equipped, the sofa was really comfy. There was Netflix/now tv for nights in. The bed must be a super king and the most comfortable bed I have slept in. It was a little cold for a couple of nights as the heating only got to a certain temperature because it was minus 3 outside but when the temperature got above zero it was warm enough. Would definitely recommend.
