Doire An Daimh is Gaelic for "thicket of the stags", which is the name of the mountain behind this delightful property and also describes its lovely woodland setting, where deer and also badger are regular visitors. This bright, modern detached cottage is situated in an elevated position and enjoys stunning views over the hills and mountains, with picturesque Loch Shiel in the foreground. It is immaculately presented with a lovely deep leather suite, luxurious bathroom with large Jacuzzi bath, en suite facilities to the master bedroom, solid oak flooring throughout and a bright, spacious kitchen/breakfast room with separate dining room. It offers total seclusion in a breathtaking setting. A special feature of the cottage is the raised decking areas which provide outside dining space, maximising the amazing views across the Peninsula to the small isles of Muck, Rhum and Eigg to the west. Acharacle is a pretty village. It offers a bakery, small shop, tearoom, pub and restaurant, all within walking distance from the property. Set in 18 acres, there are numerous woodland walks adjoining the cottage (wild chanterelle mushrooms grow nearby - a real treat to add to your breakfast or BBQ).

Perfect cottage, in a beautiful setting in a stunning part of Scotland. We have had an amazing week, the house is comfy, clean and cosy, the conservatory is wonderful with views over to Eigg. Our weather was great and I enjoyed sitting on the decking every morning with views over Acharacle. Loved the wood burner. We had visits from the pine marten every night (bring extra eggs for him) and enjoyed the beautiful birds at the bird feeder. The reviews mentioned the beds being uncomfortable. We just used one room which was very comfy, the single beds were indeed pretty bad. Just a heads up there were no dishwasher or washing tablets, no black bags, no clean cloth or scouring sponge and no tin foil. We stay in a lot of holiday homes that all provide these, it wasn't a problem just unusual, a dirty scouring sponge was left! There is a lovely cafe, a hotel, arts & crafts shop and well stocked general shop 10mins walk away. We enjoyed walking locally. I gave a low score for amenities just because there aren't a lot of 'activities' as such but we weren't looking for any but some people might be! If you enjoy peace, nature, outdoors, stunning scenery with a cosy comfy house to come home to Doire An Daimh is for you!

A beautiful bungalow in a beautiful location. Peace, quiet and the ideal location for exploring the far west mainland and islands. Even though it rained a little, the view from the house and the tranquility were ideal for just sitting and reading....

Very well-kitted out house, in a perfect location (close enough to walk to the village but far enough out that the pine martens come to visit).

stunning view around the house, no other buildings come in view. The conservatory is a real winner and I realy enjoyed my evenings there with a cup of coffee or the somewhat stronger stuff. If you look for quite and beautiful place than look no further! The house was clean and kitchen fully equipped. The quality of the double bed in the master bedroom and 2 beds in the room just accross the master bedroom were worn out. You could feel every springs through the matrass and every movement created a loud scretching sound due to the springs. I would certainly like to return to this cottage but I would recommend to change the matrasses. Furthermore, I would certainly recommend to visit Castle Tioram and Fort William (1h drive either way)

Beautiful house, much space, amazing sights. So the way up to the house is a little adventure, but it works. Alltogether it is not THAT luxury as described. It runs since years and that is to seen. The kitchen is big but the dishes weren't so luxury and not enough with a dishwasher. In the cupboard other guests left marmelade wich was moldy in many parts one could see at first sight. That should not be. And we needed a new Water cooker and a new coffee maker - the owner took care and helped as soon as possible, very kind! Unfortunately the handles of two sleeps were broken and it was too warm at night. It's not possible to get someone out there to repair this immediatly. Unfortunately the Twin Beds had seen their best time and so in this room it was too warm and too hard and it made noise whenever I moved to the other side at night - I tryed not to, because the steal feathers were hard. So we didn't sleep very well, only one person could. The bathes were good, also the shower, but like nearly everywhere: nothing to place some peaces you need. I think many guests don't care enough and don't tell the owner if something is broken and the next guest have the problems! That could be prevented with more controlls between the Rentals.
