Ideal for a quiet family holiday with the sea being a 5 minute walk away (longer with small children). Dovercourt Hall Cottage is charming and the lovely large garden is a sun-trap ideal for playing ball games or sitting and reading a good book.

We enjoyed our stay particularly the large garden and garden facilities. The dog thought it was an ideal distance to the beach through the playing fields. For an old building it was light and airy. A larger fridge would have been useful.

Comfortable, well equipped house with lovely spacious garden, ideal for family gathering. We very much enjoyed our week there with our children joining us for a long weekend. Dovercourt is a quiet area, very dog friendly, the house is five minutes walk from the beach. Pleasant local cafe and plenty of local walks. Would recommend

stayed here for a relaxed girls weekend, 6 of us. The cottage is lovely kitchen is well equipped, furniture in the lounge a bit dated and not very comfy. The cottage was generally clean but there were lots of cobwebs and it was very dusty. Lovely bathrooms with lots of towels available and spacious bedrooms, the pillow's were very hard and uncomfortable. The cottage is attached to the owners house and on a busy main road on a bus route which isnt included in the description. However we were most disappointed that we were not given privacy for the duration of our stay. it was a hot weekend and we were excited to get use of the exclusive garden as stated in the description, however from the time we arrived Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday morning the owners were constantly in the " private garden" pruning and gardening. This was even the case when sunbathing and relaxing in our bikinis as we thought it was private. This made us feel very uncomfortable and we thought it was very unnecessary and intrusive , also the owners walked by very close to where we were sitting, without asking if this was ok. As we were sitting in the lounge with the french doors and windows open in the evening they still continued with the gardening and were walking past the doors. This was really unnecessary and totally unacceptable as it is advertised as a private space. Sadly due to these reasons we wouldn't return.

Spacious cottage with all amenities. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms with clean bathrooms. I would advise putting caution labels near the hot taps as the water was "scorching". The garden was beautiful with trimmed lawns and stunning borders. Ideal for small children and dogs.

When John Major became PM the story is that he and Norma slept in every bedroom in Chequers and checked everything out before hosting visitors. Might be a good idea here as one of the beds proved to be a bit wobbly, the knives needed sharpening, there is nowhere obvious to put the soap on the rolltop bath and we could have done with another BIG saucepan. Having said that we found much to enjoy, never ran out of hot water, stayed warm, were kindly welcomed and had a super time.

This was a brilliant weekend away for me and some of my friends. The cottage is tucked away from the other houses and very well maintained. Mick and Jan are wonderful hosts and it’s my second visit. Very convenient for london also

Wow, what an amazing cottage. Full of character and beautiful throughout. Everything was perfect for our stay. The beds were super comfortable with quality linen and were clean and crisp. The living room with fireplace and logs to burn was a lovely feature and made the place so cosy. The owners were on hand if we needed anything and were very accommodating. I would recommend this cottage over and over. My 3 children aged 5,8 and 10 all loved the cottage too and have asked if we can go back. The swing was a hit with them and the local swimming pool, park and beach was also perfect for them. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage.

We stayed for a week over Christmas, Grandparents, daughter, her husband, three children (all boys, 12, 6 & 4) and our son (28) and had a lovely time. The place is spacious and full of character as a grade two listed building. There are two large double bedrooms and two good twin bedrooms. Heating is very good and there is a nice wood burning stove in the lounge. The ground floor shower is excellent and there are two other bathrooms, one with a shower over a bath and a lovely ensuite with a feature bath. The kitchen/dining room is large, although there is not a lot of storage space for food for eight with only a below worktop level fridge. Being winter we used the utility room with its freezer as a larder; it was excellent for keeping beer cool! The lounge was nicely decorated for Christmas. It was expensive but much the same price as other similar properties for this particular week. There is a large garden and parking for at least three cars and more easy parking on the road immediately outside. The owners live adjoining the property and were welcoming and helpful. We would certainly recommend the place.
