In a quiet side street just footsteps from the gorgeous beach and pretty town centre, Driftwood House has everything needed for a lovely seaside stay. Boasting three bedrooms, two living areas (one with a log burner), a conservatory and a lovely private garden, there is much to love about this spacious property. Sheringham is highly sought-after and offers lots of unique places to shop, eat and drink which are all easily accessible by foot. It also boasts a wide sand and shingle beach and is home to the beautiful 1,000-acre Sheringham Park and the nostalgic North Norfolk Railway.
The town itself hosts many events throughout the year including the Viking festival, beer festival, 40s weekend and Sheringham carnival week. Being on a main railway line, you can hop aboard and travel to Cromer, Wroxham and Norwich. If you can tear yourself away from this lovely town you can go east or west to discover salt and clay marshes, pretty beaches, rolling sand dunes and picturesque quays. Head to Blakeney and partake in a spot of crabbing or take a seasonal boat trip to see the seals.
Travel a little further and discover Wells-next-the-Sea which offers a host of instant-opportunities, including painted beach huts and a much-photographed quay. History buffs will enjoy trips to the numerous local museums, the Sandringham, Holkham, Blickling and Felbrigg Estates and the Muckleburgh and Thursford Collections. Families can enjoy a host of traditional seaside attractions, Amazonia Zoo and Bewilderwood. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at one of the many stunning Links courses.
The gateway to the Norfolk Broads is 45 minutes away by car or just over half an hour by train. Here, you can charter your own day launch or join a tour and explore these magnificent waterways. If that gives you a taste for wildlife, head to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve or RSPB Cley Marshes, which are also within easy reach. There are many great places to eat locally, something of a must after all that sea air which really does make you hungry. Then you can return to Driftwood House to relax and have a great night’s sleep…
