The neighbour at no4 appears to dislike people parking at the cottage and uses the space himself. There appears to be card using the garden and plant pots for their toilet. We noticed a very strong smell of cat urine in the kitchen which lasted for days. The wall in the living room was wet with damp resulting in a strong smell of damp, the front door doesn't fit properly resulting in the wind blowing through. No recycling facilities which in 21st century was bizarre. The cottage was close to amenities and we enjoyed the time we spent there. I don’t mean to appear negative but feel people need this information to enable them to plan their break with knowledge.

A beautiful cottage, tucked away behind the main square in Middleham. However, the parking provided was terrifying and needed you to reverse downhill in a narrow lane. Not an issue for most, there is plenty of alternative parking around. The snag is, my Mum (who was with me) is quite unsteady on her feet! In fairness, there is no claim that the cottage has good disabled access.

Very nice cottage with great facilities. The only problem we had was with how cold it was when we first arrived. I don’t think the cottage had been in use for a couple of weeks and had got very cold. It took a couple of days to warm it up again properly and I feel that the heating should have been put on before we arrived as you could feel the cold as soon as you walked in. A shame because we had no complaints otherwise.

We loved the cottage, the walks and Middleham itself - very relaxing and unspoilt

Lovely cosy cottage, parking a bit tight up the lane but plenty of space in the market space. A name sign on the front of the property would be an assest as we arrived late in the dark & couldn't easily establish which house it was. A good choice of pubs within walking distance with decent 'pub' food everyone very friendly.
