Gilbert and may were the perfect host, we were greeted on arrival shown around, given plenty of information on where to eat locally, get shopping if we preferred and informed by Gilbert if we needed anything further he was at the end of the phone. The cottage was perfect and clean to the highest standard. It's in the perfect location to visit all the lakes, fells, mountains and beach. We will definitely be using this cottage again. Gilbert left us a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates and fresh flowers. That little extra touch that made it a fabulous stay.

We were very happy at Duddon Bank Cottage which we found to be comfortable and relaxing. A character cottage full of interest from design to contents and a variety of books, puzzles and games also provided. We would recommend this cottage and hope to return ourselves.

A good base for exploring the Lakes if you have a car and don't mind driving. The pub is a bit far. The owner is a very nice chap and helpful in giving directions and advice. The cottage is fine and warm, with a well equipped kitchen.

Stayed at Duddon Bank Cottage in September 2019. The cottage is very quaint and secluded. Gilbert, the owner, gave us a brief history of the original dwelling, which dates back several hundred years. Access is slightly awkward from the main road...with a steep winding driveway. However, the accommodation is spacious, clean, cosy and quite unique in design. We enjoyed our stay immensely...although it did rain every day!!

Very comfortable cottage and friendly helpful owner. If you enjoy walking not so good for walking from the door, unfortunately during our visit they were logging in the woods so it was too muddy to walk the paths so had to use the car. Had a great week though overall.
