Duncryne Cottage is a lovely place and we were comfortable there, although I was surprised that the welcome pack that is advertised consisted of a box of shortbread and a pint of milk in the fridge - absolutely nothing else. I thought at the least a box of tea and a jar of coffee could have been provided, after all it is an expensive house. I have stayed in much less expensive places and been afforded much more. I would also say that the upstairs bathrooms do not permit you to actually have a shower as there is no shower curtain /screen and the sloping ceilings do not really permit you to stand up in the bath. The description also said that there is a pub within a mile of the property but that is not true. If they are referring to the House of Darroch shop, that closes at 6pm and is a shop with a cafe not a pub. I did query this before we embarked upon our holiday but did not receive an answer. Although it is a nice house, I feel that it is overpriced and includes a welcome pack and a pub within walking distance within it's description - neither of which were apparent.

Excellent holiday we really enjoyed the cottage. Lovely garden, we had a couple of nice evenings in the barbecue hut. Great location for the big hills, smaller hills and loch side walks but also for easy assess to a supermarket and potential rainy day/none out door activities.
