Sunnybank Lodge is a detached log cabin situated in the beautiful wild uplands of Carmarthenshire, nestled within 44 acres of shared tranquil woodland within the grounds of the stately Pantglas Hall Estate. In a private, elevated position, this three bedroomed holiday home has been furnished to a very good standard and offers comfortable and cosy accommodation, with attractive log walls, a wood burner to relax and unwind in front of, and Wi-Fi for checking up on what there is to do in the area. Outside, the private patio garden to the side has a Mediterranean-style built-in barbecue and outdoor furniture, the perfect place to watch the birds and enjoy the chorus of nature.
Although the original Pantglas mansion no longer exists, the estate has been developed into a peaceful leisure resort, with a romantic ruined tower and ornamental lake with bridge. The impressive mews building, a short walk from Sunnybank Lodge, provides the focus for leisure facilities. Within the old Victorian walled garden, there is a purpose-built complex with an indoor heated swimming pool (open 365 days a year), a well equipped gym, sauna and hot tub. Outside, there are all-weather tennis courts, a children’s play area, football pitch and mini crazy golf.
There is free Wi-Fi in Sunnybank Lodge and in the coffee shop in the communal mews building. There is also a restaurant that offers traditional Sunday lunch, table d’hote meals, and an a la Carte evening menu. At certain times of the year, you may also be able to join in on themed Welsh nights with traditional food, music and dancing. There are two full size snooker tables, a pool table, table tennis table, dart board and a children’s play room.
If you can tear yourself away from the Estate, there are plenty of places to explore. Carmarthenshire is rich in history, outstanding scenery and castles, and traditional market towns. The county is known as the ’garden of Wales’ for good reason. The area boasts some of the finest horticultural gems in Britain, with The National Botanical Gardens, the historical Aberglasney House and Garden, and Dinefwr House and Park, all within a 10-minute drive. Carmarthenshire also has six of the finest ’bucket and spade’ beaches in Europe, and one of the longest in Wales, Cefn Sidan, at Pembrey. The Brecon Beacons, Brechfa Forest, Black Mountains and Neath Valley are within easy reach, as are the rugged coasts of Pembrokeshire, Cardigan and the Gower Peninsula. Pantglas Hall can keep guests entertained throughout their stay, and lovely Sunnybank Lodge is the perfect place to be to enjoy everything that this resort and the wider area has to offer. Internet access is available free in the cabin at all times and also in the coffee shop at restricted times. Come and see for yourself. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 metres.
