We were delighted with the cottage, which is on a farmstead set in stunning Northumberland countryside. The farm owners went out of their way to make us feel exceptionally welcome, and to ensure that we had all we needed for our holiday, and they provided plenty of information about the area. We found the wood burning stoves in the living room and the kitchen easy to deal with, simply topping them up with the logs provided and not having to empty ash pans. There are several significant places of interest in the area, with the historic Cragside estate on the doorstep and Rothbury with its shops, restaurants and pubs just a short drive away. Our only reservation was over the Friday-to-Friday booking arrangement, because of heavy traffic en route. We certainly hope to return!

We were made very welcome at East Cottage. The owners Lou and Shaun made us feel at home as soon as we arrived (Including our 2 dogs Lilli and George). We are intending to return later in the year to East Cottage it is perfect for us. Peter and Cynthia Morton
