Stayed here in February, a family get together with ages 11 to 50’s. The Otters is fabulous. Very well equipped, open plan which meant you can all chat whilst cooking. Beautiful views, great Sunday lunch in the local pub. The owners are friendly and there is you need them. Would definitely recommend.

We were at the Otters to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Joining us we're daughter Sally and husband Rob and our grand children plus partners, and what a memorable Friday to Monday we had. Pity about Storm Dennis by hey the pub up the hill Cadeleigh Arms was friendly and accommodating The Otters was equipped with all you needed, fixtures and fitting good and the guy who came to. Check the hot tub was likeable . Fingers cross we will be back for our 55th Thankyou David and Gaynor

Great party space. Clean and comfortable rooms . Only issue is the kitchen area is very small if cooking for 16, but we had caterers and ate out most of the time so not too much of an issue for us. Really recommend this for birthday weekends with family and friends . But please take care of it as we’ll be back !!

What a spectacular, wonderful and stunning place to stay. My twin and I celebrated our 50th birthday on the 1st December and wanted somewhere big enough to accommodate a group of friends and family. I found the Otters which sat on a stunning deer farm in the Devonshire countryside. The Otters is just stunning with 4 twin and 4 double en suite rooms. A beautiful open plan, spacious living space with a kitchen area between. To add a little bonus there is also an outdoor patio area with plenty of seating, fire pit and hot tub. I can't recommend this property enough. It's in the country but you're no more than a 15 minute drive to a supermarket and 45 minutes to the coast if you fancy a trip out. I will definitely book this property again and can't wait to find another reason to visit.

The ‘Barn’ was spacious and open plan which we liked. The bedrooms were comfortable and it was ideal having en suites in each room. We found that with 16 people there weren’t enough plates and forks - although this was quickly rectified with a message to the owner. Nice touch having scones but again not enough for one each! We also found the heating difficult to work and would have benefitted from more detail and instructions overall in a user manual. The was no one to meet us at the Barn when we arrived (in fact we didn’t see the owner or a representative the whole weekend) and we felt the lack of communication meant the personal touch was lost - even a quick ‘hello’ note would have been welcome. Overall, we loved the setting and enjoyed the peaceful location. However, despite being a new build damage was already visible to the bathroom panel and a broken glass panel in the window. The cleanliness was also a factor - dog hairs on the soft furnishings, windows had dirty finger prints, a full ashtray, empty beer cans outside on the grass for example. Finally, the hot tub certainly isn’t a 12 person tub as advertised.
