• About Easter Baldinnies

Nestled in the valley of the River Earn, north of the Ochil Hills, Easter Baldinnies is a romantic retreat for couples.

Perfectly located in the Perthshire countryside, on a working arable farm, just outside of the small village of Dunning in the Strathearn Valley, this beautiful single-storey semi-detached holiday property, attached to the owner’s home, is the ideal retreat for a couple. Set in 4 acres of well-tended garden of mature shrubs, trees and flowers and a large pond, this tranquil location makes this the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Baldinnies House was built originally circa 1720 with some later additions very much in-keeping with the farmhouse. Easter Baldinnies, which is all on one level, has been beautifully furnished with a spacious living area and a secluded walled garden ideal for al fresco dining or relaxing with a glass of wine.
It is just a few minutes’ drive to the interesting village of Dunning which is centred around the historic St Serfs Church and Dupplin Cross dating back to 800AD, as well as a local shop, tennis club and 9 hole golf course. For golf enthusiasts you are only 15 minutes’ drive to the championship courses at Gleneagles Resort with a Michelin star restaurant.
This property boasts an ideal location for exploring the local area as you are near to the motorway links and within easy reach of the major towns and cities of central Scotland. The historic city of Perth is just a 10 minute drive away, where you can enjoy an evening at the theatre or the award winning concert hall or you could visit one of the fine eateries, cafes, bars and shops. Scone Palace, 11 miles, where the Kings of Scotland were crowned, provides an enjoyable day out. There are several whisky distilleries in the area offering tours and tastings. A little further afield, but still within easy driving distance, guests will be able to enjoy a day trip to the magnificent Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Perfect for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists, you will find many established public footpaths and quiet roads and the Ochil Hills for the more adventurous. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

This a large one bedroom cottage that is lovely inside and out. The rooms are very spacious, very well furnished and very comfortable. The walled garden is gorgeous. The owners go the extra mile to make sure visitors enjoy their stay. We would highly recommend a stay here. The location is very rural but close to a lovely historic village. Do visit the church and see the amazing Dupplin Pictish cross, the straw house and the site of the Roman barracks up in the woods. We found the drives to Stirling, St.Andrews and Perth very easy and well worth doing. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and could easily have stayed longer.

It's a lovely cottage. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower and good proportions. The kitchen is well equipped and the owners very friendly and helpful. The cottage is situated in a prime location for visiting Perth and Kinross as well as the kingdom of Fife.

Lovely cottage and friendly, helpful owners. Need a car as quite a way from village. Setting is lovely and quiet and garden is great for people and dogs! Village pub is very good for food and friendly for people and dogs. Easy reach of lovely Perthshire and Clackmannanshire countryside and towns. Loved our stay and would recommend and revisit.

The cottage was beautifully maintained and the owners were on hand to deal with any problems that arose. We felt welcomed and cared for to an exceptional degree, compared to many cottages where we have stayed in the past. There are extremely few negatives: the lack of a tumble dryer for clothes is unfortunate, and the central heating boiler had an intermittent fault (which the owners were very quick to advise about and correct). The location is quite beautiful provided that one does not mind passing trains (I don't). Local amenities mean driving to Dunning village, which has surprisingly good resources, or to Perth a few miles away. The only source of nervousness about that is that the approach road is very narrow and one needs to be ready to reverse into farm gateways to let other vehicles past. Most of the issues are intrinsic to the location and no-one's responsibility, let alone fault. This was an excellent cottage holiday and we would both recommend it and consider re-booking.
