A quaint rather lovely Cottage with the added warmly touch of a log burner/fire, which through our winter months stay - was such a delight.
'Easter Cottage' itself is surprisingly spacious, considering its a 2 bedroom, yet with a touch of modern, as each bedroom comes with its own en suite.
(to add: this is definitely a Cottage, many owners band this label around far to easily, how many times we've got to our destination to find its merely a modern type property - and not a Cottage as advertised, grr!! So yes, this is without doubt a (lovely) Cottage)
Complimented at the back of the property by a full length kitchen, that has all your cooking needs, and an adjoining little dinning area, that then leads on to their back yard garden/area/space, and my what a fab surprise this was, a superb bonus for when staying in the summer months! Picture coming back from a day out and about, the sun is belting, as its a glorious evening, out with the barbecue and time to enjoy your own little oasis, as this is a great personal space, of which, we all agreed we'd definitely return in the summer months - just for this :-D
The Cottage is literally 5 minutes from the main Street/Square (apologies I've forgotten the name) 2 pubs, several other shops that include a chemist, tea rooms, bike shop, butchers, a store for all your needs, ah, and its always worth a look at the Car Sales Auctions?, as they constantly have a fantastic selection of cars from all decades - this is definitely worth a look.
Always worthy of a mention, is Thornton Le Dale's famous 'The Chocolate Factory' although, be prepared to empty all your coffers, as it sure is expensive, yet well worth the luxury, as they ALL taste scrumptious, chocolate that the taste will bring you back for more.
We've been coming to Yorkshire for many a year, and we always make time for Thornton Le Dale, and not just for the Chocolate, lol. We usually book a table for Sunday lunch, as both The Buck & The New Inn? Pubs offer excellent meals at competitive prices, and always so very (dog) friendly.
A shout out for the local Chemist (Coop?) as all staff, including the Pharmacist, were all fantastic, genuinely very friendly, worth of a mention for the help that they give!
Thornton Le Dale is one of those special places, we have so many fab memories of visiting through the years, it's such a beautiful area to stay as a base, with the locals so genuinely friendly.
Located on the southern fringes of the North York Moors National Park, then visit what all of Yorkshire has to offer, as all main roads, e.g A170, will get you where you need to go and in no time at all.
Scarborough is merely a half hour drive from the Cottage, so if you fancy the Seaside, arcades and scrumptious fish & chips. Then there's Whitby which is about a similar drive. Yes, this is a great starting point, with Easter Cottage definitely worth considering - as it sure ticks all the right boxes.
