Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with all the amenities needed within walking distance. Cottage well equipped and having sinks in two of the bedrooms was a bonus. Only downside was not having a door between the bedroom and the en suite shower room, a curtain really was not appropriate at times.

Inadequate for 6 one double no wardrobe and ensuite had ill fitting curtain instead of a doorn Kitchen v basic freezer was an ice blocked ice compartment totally inadequate for 6. Kitchen cupboards dirty and waste bin filthy. Previous occupants left food in cupboards and fridge plus dirty socks in Di I g room. Nice garden but nothing to sit on. Plus numerous bulbs not working. Would not recommend this tired and in need of updating cottage to anyone

We had a great holiday at this cottage which is in a lovely location. The bedrooms are spacious and the living area is warm and cosy. The kitchen is small but well equipped although there is limited drying space for walking gear. Overall the cottage has lots of charm and character, and is good value for money.

Lots of space upstairs and downstairs for young children. Everything was good overall. The garden wasn't particularly child friendly and there was a lack of freezer space but these were minor and didn't affect our stay.

Delightful cottage in beautiful village - Central for Braithwaite village shop and pubs/restaurants. The only downsides in the cottage: absence of logs for fire and no longer available at village store at this point of the season, an electric fire would be welcome in the large inglenook during our initial cold weekend - central heating, however, excellent: Lumpy mattress in ensuite bedroom should really be replaced. These are only quibbles in an otherwise very happy holiday. Wi-fi was installed during our visit!

We enjoyed the cottage, which was in a nice village, close to a good pub (the Royal Oak) and with a village store too, and with good walks straight from the door. It was comfortable, characterful and with a nice real fire. I would recommend 3 [small] things though..... (1) supply towels (2) supply black bin liners (3) provide clear instructions on recycling as we were unsure what do with bottles etc

The situation of Eastern Cottage is excellent. Withn walking distance of 3 good pubs serving good beer and good food; A lovely local shop 200 yards away, and right at the foot of the road up the Whinlatter Pass to the splendid visitor centre. Plus you are only 2 miles from Keswick.
