Wooler 7 miles has a good range of independent shops two good butchers a delicatessen coffee and craft shops and a few pubs all serving food. There are circular walking routes quiet roads for cycling and exhilarating mountain bike routes.\n\nIt is a short drive to the fabulous Northumbrian coast to visit Bamburgh Castle take a boat to the Farne Islands from Seahouses or visit tidal Holy Island 20 miles. Chillingham Castle 14 miles is famous for its ghosts and wild white cattle. Head over the border into Scotland to Kelso 14 miles and Melrose for further exploration of this lovely area.     Everything was great but the few small improvements are important. 1. The track to the property is in a bad state, so be aware. 2. No signage at the top of the road. So you don't know if you are at the property, as there is no phone signal for phone sat Nov etc Apart from two things, the property was great value for the money and would highly recommend it to a family or group of friends who wanted to go for lovely walks and basically relax .

    House and garden a perfect setup for our two dogs, as was the location. Owner Emily was very friendly and helpful, we will definitely visit again.

    Cottage was exactly what we wanted for a relaxing weekend. Great for all the family. Good base for visiting other places in Northumberland.

    The location of this cottage is perfect if you love peace tranquillity and nature on your doorstep. We had a superb holiday here and felt truly relaxed. The cottage is comfortable and spacious and the garden beautiful. Wooler 7 miles away is the nearest town with shops and eateries which are limited - the only supermarket is the co-op which is a bit pricey. The cottage is not easy to find so follow the instructions given carefully and make sure you have some food and provisions with you when you arrive.
