It is only 10 minutes’ drive from the myriad attractions of the medieval city of Norwich and is a fisherman’s delight with its large decked area and garden leading down to the riverbank as well as private mooring. It makes an ideal holiday base as it is only a short drive from a river centre offering a range of water sports. Whitlingham’s dry ski slope is close by and the area has many country lanes which are lovely for walking and cycling. Dinghies and day boats are available for hire nearby and shops and inns are within 0.25 miles. Ideal for exploring the area the fabulous sandy beaches at Winterton and Sea Palling. Visit Great Yarmouth for family fun Wroxham the ’Capital of the Broads’ where you can take a river trip BeWILDerwood the treetop adventure park that the children will love and the RSPB Strumpshaw.     This is a lovely cottage ...really modern with plenty of room both in and outside for a family ...we are 3 adults and two teenagers ...wi fi is excellent and easily managed us all on our devices including my Alexa! ....beds are devine with John Lewis bedding well that says it all ! The bi-fold windows certainly bring inside/outside living so you are always having the benefit of the lovely garden and views ....fishing is also good with river carp as well as trench and bream ... it's an easy walk to the village ...jcan throughly recommend this cottage .

    This property was down a very rough track and I would not recommend for cars with low chassis. It was also very smelly in the general area. Would not recommend if you are avid fishermen. There were way too many reeds and very low water levels. This property, as lovely as it was, was very very hot. The fans provided did very little to alleviate the heat. Be aware that the property is in the middle of nowhere with only a sainsburys locally.

    The cottage was lovely in a great location with the river at the bottom of the garden however the uneven lane down to the cottage was not the best. We loved the secure parking, outside area & the size & amenities in the cottage but unfortunately the cottage was very dusty especially the hall, stairs & landing & bedrooms. However this would not stop us revisiting this cottage.

    Beautiful house on the waters edge. Very good location and relaxing atmosphere. Very clean and well equipped accommodation. It was our second visit to the property and as we loved it the first time we booked it again. I'm sure we will be back.

    This was our second visit to Edgewater. When a holiday cottage is perfect with perfect feedback.....it could be boring to the reader who is not only looking for positive feedback but also any constructive criticism. Well, I could only come up with a couple, which are in no way meant to be other than helpful comments. It is a perfect chalet in a perfect and quiet private plot by the river, but the road, or rather dirt track, leading to the property is very bumpy and would not suit a low chassis - so drive very slowly. I loved the responsibility of opening and closing the railway gates and a couple of times we got the excitement of trains passing - don't worry, you do get plenty of warning. Local amenities are not exactly on the doorstep, but in all honesty the choice of restaurants is more than adequate as we ate out a lot during the day and never had a meal we weren't happy with. The shower drainage needs seeing to as it fills up the base very quickly and its like a paddling pool, but the flow from the shower is good and water is nice and hot. The glass in the Bi-fold doors could do with a bit of a clean, unless it's the double glazing broken down. We were blessed with really good weather and had the doors open most days and evenings, so didn't really notice. In the evening back at the chalet, we enjoyed the canoes from the boat club just up river and watching the experienced as well as learners is very entertaining and you can also wave to the tour boats who will often shout greetings to you as you sit riverside with a glass of wine. We had a really wonderful and relaxing holiday in a beautiful chalet. Thank you.
