Edwin Cottage is a delightful, traditional stone house in the friendly seaside town of Amble. From Edwin Cottage you are only a short walk from all of the amenities Amble has to offer. This includes a range of shops, highly rated and award-winning restaurants, a popular ice cream parlour, one of the best traditional fish and chip shops in the Northeast and a selection of pubs.

From Edwin Cottage you can also take a stroll to Amble high street, the marina, the Little Shore beach, and quayside harbour area that offers a range of leisure and shopping opportunities and benefits from fantastic scenery with views of the Coquet estuary, Warkworth Castle and the bird watching haven of RSPB Coquet Island, which lies just a mile off the coast. Coquet Island is most famous for the colourful puffins who return in their thousands to breed each springtime. Seasonal boat trips are available to see the island close up.

Not only is Edwin Cottage perfect for exploring Amble, but you are also less than a mile from the entrance to the Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty (AONB) as you approach Walkwork. Amble also enjoys a good bus service to local neighbouring places, Newcastle city, and is just over 5 miles from Alnmouth train station. With all of this on your doorstep Edwin Cottage is the perfect base at any time of the year to explore this unspoilt region with its castles, beautiful countryside, fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities and golden beaches.

Edwin Cottage has been tastefully decorated and provides a cosy and welcoming retreat. Perfect for couples, friends, or a small family. Edwin Cottage has a spacious living area that has a leather sofa and two armchairs, so you have plenty of space to relax. Guests also benefit from access to Netflix and Wi-Fi that is included as part of your stay. A small 4-seater dining table is provided, enabling you to have your holiday meals in comfort. The kitchen and utility area is fully equipped, with a fridge freezer, washer dryer, iron and ironing board, dishwasher, microwave and electric oven with induction hobs. A highchair and travel cot is available for guest travelling with infants.

The backyard area is equipped with a 4 seater round table and chairs so guests can enjoy a private outside space. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the second bedroom has twin 2”6 beds.
Amble has plenty of pubs, restaurants, and cafés with a lovely market on a Sunday morning. Beach huts are available for hire along the Little Shore beach. Warkworth, with the castle on top of the hill, is a scenic walk of just over a mile away from Edwin Cottage. Less than 3 miles from Edwin Cottage is the The Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. This is one of the best wildlife watching spots in the Northeast. Right next to the beach, it offers fantastic views across the length of Druridge Bay and is internationally renowned for its birds.
You can also travel inland only a few miles to the market town of Alnwick and Alnwick Castle that has been the filming location in a variety of films, including the exterior of Hogwarts in Harry Potter films. The castle also has a set of beautiful, landscaped gardens to explore, including the famous Poison Garden. If you are in the mood for a picnic or just a long walk, Hulne Park is the perfect choice, as well as Alnwick Castle Golf Club for those seeking to enjoy a leisurely game.
