Dramatic views across Cardigan Bay to the distant mountain range of the Snowdonia National Park form an attractive backdrop for this idyllically located, spacious 18th-century house. Owned by Prime Minister Lloyd George’s daughter, it has been in the same family for many generations and has been carefully maintained to offer a quality standard of holiday accommodation. It stands amid its own mature, well-tended gardens. Guests can take advantage of a 20% discount on fishing at the owner’s fishery, 500 yards from the cottage. Full of charm and character, it adjoins another holiday property Ty Mawr (OCC), yet is completely self-contained with a separate driveway. Both houses can be booked together to accommodate 18 guests and a first floor link can be opened between the two properties. Two other holiday properties can be found on-site. The owner offers a home cooked meal on arrival by prior arrangement and at extra charge.
The sheltered southern coast of the Llyn Peninsula harbours a wealth of sandy beaches and coves, the nearest being a mere ¾ mile away. Here a temperate climate offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing and water skiing, and there are some beautiful walking paths along the shore. Some of Wales’ best beaches are to be found an easy drive away at the tip of the Peninsula, Abersoch and Aberdaron in particular offer wide sandy stretches popular for water sports. Just over a mile away lies the coastal town of Criccieth, where there is a sandy beach at low tide and a 13th-century castle perched on a rocky headland. Across the bay, the dramatically located Harlech Castle stands as another testament to more turbulent times. For shopping, good dining and a weekly street market, visit the bustling port town of Pwllheli, 6 miles. The holiday centre of Porthmadog has a wide range of facilities for rock climbing, riding, canoeing and fishing. From here it is an easy drive to visit the beautiful Italianate village of Portmeirion with its forest walks, gardens and sandy beach. For a novel mode of transport along the coastline, hop aboard the Blaenau Ffestiniog Narrow-Gauge Railway, which still operates on a line first opened in 1836. You’ll find many excellent walking and mountaineering opportunities locally. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as horse riding. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Eisteddfa can be booked together with Bwthyn Bach (26687), Ty Mawr (OCC) and Glas y Dorlan (UK6509) to accommodate up to 24 guests..

Eistedffa was a great house for our holiday of 10 people. It was very spacious, elegant but cosy. The kitchen was well equipped . We were particularly interested in the history of the house . There was a very positive response from all age groups from 9 to 70!

Superb for a large family gathering. Beautiful large well equipped kitchen with 2 dishwashers. I could have spent the whole time reading the interesting books on the veranda with lovely views. Lots of Kyffin prints and Lloyd George memorabilia and the friendly welcome made this house special for members

9 of us stayed at Eisteddfa for a family holiday for a week and it was amazing. What a fantastic house. It has lots of character and is set in beautiful surroundings. A lovely big garden and fantastic views of the mountains from the terrace. Lovely big bedrooms and plenty of room for everyone. It really is a home from home and they've thought of absolutely everything. Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay there again some time. Jane the caretaker was lovely, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely big house perfect for our family of 10. Great space to spread out in and fantastic kitchen . Bathrooms were disappointing especially both the ensuites. White furniture was challenging with children and infant. Children’s plastic plates would’ve been a good idea and extra tea towels and a cooking apron ... otherwise well stocked with all we required. We would stay there again.

Lovely house. Kitchen was great with lots of storage and big fridge and freezer. Enough room for everyone to relax and eat together. Excellent wifi and very clean. Rooms are large and beds were comfortable. Good views and garden was private and enclosed so dog was safe to go out. We will be going back soon.

Enjoyed our stay, house well equipped and large enough for a party of of nine. WiFi not working when we arrived but was dealt with efficiently. Would go again. Not a lot open in Criccieth due to time of year, but we all enjoyed our stay.

Had a wonderful time, lovely accommodation, would definitely recommend. I only gave 7 for local amenities because it’s a little out of the way but you would expect that from the location description and we didn’t want to be walking distance from a high street anyway, it was nice being a little out of the way. Having said that, it was much easier than I realised to get to nearby towns so you’re not isolated. There was lots of space for us and the dog and we all really enjoyed the stay. Loved it.
