Located on the edge of the market town of Fareham, on the South Coast, the attic barn is set within the owner’s grounds, which are used to harvest honey from their own hives, home to free range chickens, and a variety of home grown fruits and vegetables are available depending on the season. The owners are keen to be environmentally friendly with the use of solar panels. There is access to a washing machine if needed.
Less than a 20-minute walk from the property is your choice of pub and a restaurant, one that over looks Fareham Creek. Just a 12-minute walk to the fully restored Victorian Fort Nelson with high ramparts, original fortifications, massive parade ground, underground tunnels and stunning panoramic views. There is also a golf course and horse riding very close by. The market town of Fareham lies halfway between the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth. It combines a high street made up of characterful, historical buildings and a modern pedestrianised central shopping area. Every Monday it is home to one of the best traditional open-air markets in the region.
Just over a 2-mile walk from the property is Portsdown Hill, a chalk ridge that overlooks Portsmouth, the highest point lies within Fort Southwick at 131 metres above sea level and provides a stunning viewpoint over the city, the harbour and the Isle of Wight. With easy access to the M27, you can visit Portsmouth with waterside dining, ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, designer outlets, Natural History Museum, Spinnaker Tower and the HMS Victor.
