This delightful semi-detached cottage, adjacent to the owners’ home and with far reaching rural views, is located in the small village of Blagdon Hill at the foot of the beautiful Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can join many rights of way from the door, linking neighbouring villages of Pitminster, Trull, Corfe and Staple Fitzpaine all of which have pubs serving good food. There is also an excellent village pub just 400 yards away which is dog-friendly, and four other lovely pubs are located within 4 miles, all serving great food. The Herepath, a circular 14 mile bridleway ideal for walking, trail running, mountain biking and horse riding is easily accessible and has beautiful woodland walks, wild flowers and wildlife, as well as views towards the Somerset Levels. There are many places of interest to visit nearby, including the beautiful gardens of Hestercombe designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, a 20-minute drive away, National Trust property Killerton House, a 45-minute drive, and Grade I Listed Forde Abbey. The county town of Taunton has an interesting choice of shops and the highly recommended Museum Of Somerset, which offers family events during school holidays. Somerset County Cricket Club is here, and for ‘parkrun tourists’ there is Longrun Meadow, where the event takes place. The Jurassic Coast can be reached within 40 minutes and the spectacular resort of Lyme Regis makes an excellent family day out. Crealy Adventure Park and Resort, and Diggerland can both be reached within the hour and are very popular with younger children. Both Bristol and Exeter airports are within an hour’s drive.
