The bedrooms are spacious and very nicely presented the dining room vibrant and relaxing perfect for a lovely family meal and the living room has a roaring open fire perfect for chillier evenings or those cosy autumn and winter breaks. All in all Emma Place is a wonderful house in a superb location and a great choice for your perfect holiday in Cornwall.\n\nLocated in the heart of the charming little town of Bodmin in a quiet spot just a 2-minute walk into the town centre with its array of unusual shops. Just across the road is a lovely play park with a pond for children and next door is St. Petroc’s Church the largest and one of the oldest parish churches in the whole of Cornwall. Bodmin is home to the famous Bodmin Jail and Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway. From the garden you can hear the train’s whistles and enjoy views towards Bodmin Beacon a lovely 87-acre nature reserve and the 144ft tall monument towering high above the town.\nThis property would suit families with children of all age ranges for lovely summer holidays or even two couples looking for autumn spring or winter breaks for a spot of calm and tranquillity. It is very dog friendly with an enclosed front garden and rear courtyard. For the outdoorsy types bring your bikes or hire them and you can ride all the way from Wenfordbridge to Padstow along the 18-mile Camel Trail. Fishing can also be found nearby. The house is named after Emma Gifford the wife of the famous Victorian novelist and poet Thomas Hardy who used to live here. Thomas Hardy is best known for Tess of the d’Urbervilles and over 1000 poems penned in his lifetime.\nBodmin is probably best known for the wild and rugged moorland and the infamous smugglers haunt of Jamaica Inn but this area has so much more to offer holidaymakers. A great place, home from home. Even our dog was catered for. Loved the homemade scones in the welcome pack. We will definitely be back and have already recommended to family and friends.

Emma Place is absolutely charming; everything you could need is provided and the welcome pack was ....very welcome. The area is served by plenty of shops and food outlets if you don't fancy cooking and serves very well as a base to explore the beauty of Cornwall. We stayed with two large dogs and there was plenty of room in the house and garden and we found that most of the beaches and a lot of pubs welcomed them. We visited lots of lovely places all within 30-45 min drive. Our favourite visits were Megavissey, Polperro and Port Isaac and our favourite beach for spending some lovely playtime with the dogs was Harlyn Bay. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others!
