Nestling in a tranquil woodland setting on the outskirts of the village of Shadoxhurst, these six lodges (refs UK11187, UK11237, UK11255, UK11256, UK11257 and UK11259) have access to an indoor heated swimming pool (open April-October) and use of a games room with table tennis table, pool table and table football. Each lodge has an individual sitting-out area with table and chairs and there is also a grassed area for ball games. The rear of the site opens onto a small byway with walks through local woodlands.
The village of Shadoxhurst is located on the Kent Weald between the North Downs and Romney Marsh. There is an award-winning pub in the village serving great beers and food to the many walkers that call in for refreshment. Although enjoying a rural location, Ashford International station is only a 10-minute drive away offering access to Europe (don’t forget your passport) and London for further sightseeing opportunities in the capital. For a spot of retail therapy, visit McArthurGlen designer outlet which is also only a 10-minute drive.
Port Lympne Wildlife Park will transport you to the plains of Africa and Asia, and you can enjoy a safari experience and see Kent’s only giraffes! Canterbury with its magnificent cathedral and boat trips on the River Stour is also a great day out. Visit Dover Castle and the wartime tunnels, or for a sandy beach head to St Mary’s Bay. Experience the unique vast expanse of shingle beach, technically referred to as a desert, at Dungeness and see the film director Derek Jarman’s ’Prospect Cottage’ with its driftwood garden. For something different, take the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway which runs from Hythe to Dungeness. Beach 11½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 24 guests.
