Gorgeous cottage with some great views. Nice to wake up to in the morning with views of the hilltops right from the living room. Had everything you need for a nice and peaceful break. Bev (owner), nice guy, always willing to help you out and to make sure everything was good, especially with wood/coal for fire as it was fairly cold at time of stay. Plenty of private land/fields for dogs to run around, river nearby. Would certainly book again.

Landlord on site and came to visit every day if not twice a day. I wanted a quiet peaceful time on our own with no intrusions.

Perfect place to relax and switch off from the world

This is a difficult one as the owner was lovely and helpful - brought up plenty of logs for the wood burner, gave us useful information on local walks as well as the history of places. They were very passionate about the area and the way of life supporting the local community. The cottage is in an absolutely lovely position overlooking the fells - brilliant for sitting out of an evening with a drink in hand and reminiscing about the day's adventures. However the cottage was not particularly clean - the place itself as well as the contents although bed and towels were absolutely fine.

Our 4th visit. Ideal for dog and lovely scenery. Lots of very quiet walking with not too many people around. Very comfortable cottage, beautifully furnished. The owner (lives on site) is extremely helpful. Big, enclosed field for the dog to run in and a lovely short walk down to the river.

Lovely 300 year old cottage, very quirky with lots of character. Beautiful setting, with glorious views, and river nearby. Bev, the owner, was extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Our dog was in her element, with an acre to play in, and with Bev's two dogs for company as well.
