We had a fantastic long weekend in the lodge. It’s very roomy, peaceful and comfortable. Hot tub is a delight. A couple of minor niggles though. Some lights weren’t working. Some of the dishes were dirty, the cooking knives were as blunt as wooden spoons and the kettle is fit only for the bin. Although the bedding was clean and fresh, we found quite a bit of thick dust on some of the fittings in the bedrooms. The TV in the lounge had very iffy sound quality and the TV in the bedroom was out of the arc. We didn’t go there to watch TV however, so it wasn’t a big deal. The bathrooms were clean and fresh as they should be. Because we were allowed to take our dogs, we wished we could have hoovered the lodge before we left. Unfortunately, the vacuum cleaner was broken. Overall however, the lodge is beautiful, comfortable and in a great location, and we’d recommend it to our friends. With some minor tweaks and refurbishment, it’d be worth 5*s

Fabulous relaxing holiday. A minor criticism; the lighting in the lodge was very poor. We have stayed at this lodge three times and I would definitely book again.

Very Spacious lodge, we did find it chilly in the evenings, suggest a blanket or two be made available. A bit out in the sticks, very quiet , Mable Thorpe worth a visit not far away. Lincoln castle and Cathedral also made a great day out. Make sure you have a tank full of petrol as very rural.

Great location. Lodge site is peaceful & set in a forest area. Lodge 43 is lovely, let down by its cleanliness. The hot tub was wonderful, took a while to regulate the chemicals though. The sofas in the living area are not comfortable to sit on for any length of time as they do not offer back & neck support. We was worried about comments on previous reviews about the damp smell. I’m pleased to say we didn’t encounter it. We did put the light on each time we showered which in turn put the extractor fan on & also had the windows open on occasions. We thought check in time of 4pm was too late. The first day of your holiday has gone before you could get in. All in all a lovely lodge, we used it as a base to explore the area. Would recommend it but hope the cleaners do a better job.

Having stayed at the lodge and paid a bit extra for hit tub, I was very disappointed with the accommodation. The cabin needs a good thorough deep clean and a good overhaul on decor/furnishings. There was dust and dirt everywhere, from lamps to dining table, walls and ceilings. The Hoover was inadequate as even tried using it. Light bulbs were missing, electric bath towel radiator tapes together, bottom bar missing off bed in master room so a hole in the frame with a sharp edge. The dining table had lift out glass parts which had crumbs underneath so lord knowswhen it was last cleaned. For paying over £1000 I was expecting a lot higher standard.

A lovely setting but few amenities readily available. We needed 2 travel cots, only one was available. We needed 2 highchairs and there were none, just a booster seat with clip on tray. Something to do on the park would be good so that the walks can sometimes have a destination with an activity, or on-site shop, at the end.

Was a fab lodge only issue was the rubbish as it only had one black bin outside and one bin in the kitchen. there were 3 of us for the week 6 would have been worse. We filled the outside bin quickly and put out another black bag full as we couldnt find anywhere on the site to empty the black bin. The bag was destroyed in the morning and the rubbish everywhere we then had to keep stuff in the house as it was warm it wasnt pleasant come the end of the week

Pro’s and cons to cabin 43. Location amazing, peaceful and even though at first it seems like your very close to lots of other cabins and worry about privacy it’s actually ok. Use of pool and spa facilities - just fabulous!! Sauna, steam room, tepidarium, ice room, foot spa, hydra pool, swimming pool - all included. Now the cabin itself.... if the picture you’ve seen shows cream coloured comfortable looking sofas - it’s a lie! There are 3 square style black sofas - the most uncomfortable ones ever for sitting around as a family chatting. The bedrooms all have an awful smell - not sure if it’s the carpets or the mattresses? Difficult to sleep with that smell. You have to look after the hot tub yourself adding chemicals as and when required, the hot tub light doesn’t work, the outside light is broken, many indoor bulbs have gone and not been replaced, I had to (believe it or not) vacuum the walls before we could sleep due to the amount of dust that had accumulated over time between the wooden slats and the cobwebs all over the walls. I spent my first hour or so cleaning before we could relax. If cheap is what you’re after this is perfect. Clearly either they don’t have regular cleaners between guests or they can’t be bothered to do a good job. I would return to the location in a flash but never to cabin 43. The smell when you’re lying in bed is awful!

Absolutely adored our few days break, it was a beautiful cabin, the power shower to die for. We had everything we needed. A few cobwebs and quite dusty with a few items broken that need replacing. But that doesn't stop my praise of the place. Hot tub was great, we used once as first-timers. I would definitely love to stay there again.

The lodge was poorly equipped, dirty, had quite a few broken appliances and fixtures, the Jacuzzi hadn't been cleaned for our arrival and when it was the chlorine levels were too high to use but we were left to sort it ourselves so didn't get to use it for the first 3 days of our 6 day stay. The woods are not managed so you're not sure where you can walk and the paths are not maintained. The roads around the site are full of potholes so very hard on the car. The lodges are also sited such that the balcony areas overlook each other and it all feels crowded. Definitely not as described.
