Almost impossible to find, this delightful terraced cottage is tucked away in a quiet area along a short pedestrian lane, 5 minutes’ walk from Peebles High Street and only 23 miles from Edinburgh. There is a welcoming living room with a wood burner, a roomy kitchen with a farmhouse-style table, and a small sitting-out area to the rear of the house.
Peebles is a great starting point for keen cyclists and walkers, with many way marked routes in the area, and Glentress Forest is the go-to destination for mountain bikers or Go Ape fans. For a small town, there is a surprising choice of excellent cafés, pubs and restaurants, along with independent shops and galleries.
For a stress free day in the city, take a bus into Edinburgh, or use the Park & Ride at Straiton. Explore the pretty Border towns where there are ancient abbeys, historic houses, fabulous gardens and wonderful scenery to savour. Traquair House, 7 miles, has a brewery, maze and a fascinating history. Beach 26 miles. Shop 240 yards, pub 440 yards and restaurant 275 yards.
