    Paythorne is ideally located for exploring both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The village itself is well catered for with the local caravan site providing a shop where basic provisions may be purchased, there is a pub within 500 yards of the cottage, yet it enjoys a quiet, secluded location away from the village. There is a Post Office just 3 miles away, and the wonderful amenities of Skipton are within very easy reach. Paythorne provides an ideal location for walking and cycling, and there are many other amenities within the immediate area including a golf course.

A good week at Roe cottage which was well located for the dales and the Lancashire coast. On an old farm site that is being developed into a lodge park so I’m sure the shared drive will get a lot busier once this is open. Very clean throughout Would expect more crockery to prevent having to hand wash. Although there is a dishwasher you wouldn’t want to run it every time because there’s only 4 mugs etc. Beds were not especially comfortable. We got a good deal but not sure I would not rush back but unless the negatives above are addressed

Roe cottage was lovely, beautifully presented and spotless. The only thing I would mention is I wouldn't say it is completely dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture (fair enough but can be difficult if you have a pampered pooch that is normally allowed on your sofa at home) and also they aren't allowed upstairs. The problem with this is that the bathroom is upstairs so in bad weather you can't take your dog out anywhere they might get dirty as you have no way of showering them off. Apart from that I would highly recommend it especially if you aren't taking any furry friends with you!

As long as you want to chill, Roe Cottage is just perfect. Families with children may struggle. For us it was just what we wanted, just a short stroll to the pub which serves excellent food.

We rented Roe cottage and the cottage next door. Both cottages are fantastic they are very well equipped and very comfortable.

Beautifully presented on immaculate farm. We booked this is a hurry and had not appreciated proximity to owners farm nor that this was semi detached. Noise from adjoining property was an issue on the first evening, but we had no subsequent problems and this was the festive period so excusable. Very clean. We were catering for Christmas, which meant we were a little short of crockery and only minimal number of forks and teaspoons provided, but it was all manageable. Would book this property again.
