Originally a weaver’s cottage this delightful house has been beautifully restored by its current owners and now combines the height of contemporary living with olde world charm. The main living area is open plan. This lovely room has exposed stone walls a feature woodburner and spectacular views over the sea to the mountains beyond. There are three large bedrooms all beautifully presented and two bathrooms fitted to the same high specification. French doors open onto a large decking area a wonderful spot to sit and admire the incredible views across the bay. Applecross Peninsula is renowned for its wild rugged and unspoilt beauty. This is a fantastic area for hill walking climbing in the Torridon Hills kayaking around the coast and cycling the quiet lanes with amazing views around almost every corner. Sea loch 50 yards. Shop pub and restaurant 12 miles. \n" https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/809/840/809747.jpg 29677

Everything is very good about this property - it is in a remote location so doesn't score highly on local amenities, but a remote location is a plus for many people. WiFi would really help

Cottage was in a lovely position. But i did think it was overpriced. It is a bit tired and could do with a more thorough clean. It is up for sale so i understand why the owners perhaps dont want to spend money on the property. But i think it that case it was overpriced. Did not affect our holiday though. Had a fab time.

Disappointed that the cottage had a lot of hairs from a previous tenant everywhere, the microwave was dirty. Otherwise kitchen was fine. The restrictions of the water supply would not make it suitable for many families. Shame that the coast / sea loch advertised as being 50m away was further & really hard to access. Nice area & we had a good holiday but wouldn't go back to this house

Although a stunning location it is not possible to walk to the coast from the cottage. The cottage is surrounded by other properties but sadly doesnt have an enclosed garden so the dog has to be on the lead constantly. Although the cottage was lovely and clean we felt there were niggly little things that could have made it so much better, not least the fact that the smoke alarm battery needed changing and although we bought a new one, we could not find a way safely into the alarm without breaking it - therefore we left on Thursday as could not face another sleepless night. Surely this could have been checked prior to our arrival (I usually change mine at home once a year to prevent this). The shower was a dribble and the notice told us to wait fifteen minutes inbetween each shower - good job there were only two of us because if you had the full family of 6 and followed this advice it would take 2 and half hours to have showers in the morning!!! We brought our pup with us and had to constantly move things out of her way - if we had, had a todler with us it would have been a nightmare. As mentioned in previous comments all amenities are limited and over half an hours drive away. No beaches to speak of either in easy driving distance. If you want a holiday to sit in the cottage and admire the views this would be perfect however if you want to go out and do more than this be prepared to drive!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. All very tastefully furnished! A bit far from shops so you need to be organised.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Dogs loved it! Really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen could do with a few more bits and unfortnuately some areas hadn't been cleaned - were thick with dust and had food/hairs in the utensil drawers. But we loved the cottage and had a wonderful week.

This really is a remote place to stay so if you really want piece and quiet this is the place for you. WARNING although the owners provide plenty of the basics, toilet rolls bin liners etc, you really need to take everything you need for your meals , we even took plenty of bottled water( the tap water is perfectly safe to drink but it has a slight yellow rings to it)&the grandchildren would not have drunk it. The heating in the house is excellent and much better than in some other places we have stayed. Overall a nice place to stay very comfortable for 6 people

This was an excellent property. Clean, well equipped and in a beautiful location. Perhaps the beds were too small, (I am 6'2'') but you can't please everyone. One of the great joys was there was no internet or mobile connection-bliss. I probably won't come and stay again because, although I live in Scotland, I still have much more to explore. However I will give it a strong recommendation to anyone wishing to holiday in the Torridon area. I have rated local amenities low, we bought all we needed however anyone not familiar with local amenities in the North West of Scotland would be caught out. It may be worth mentioning the lack of amenities in the holiday blurb.
