Nestled in the rugged Coppermines Valley high above Coniston, Fellside offers a cosy retreat for two. For centuries, Coniston was the centre of the Lake District mining industry. This remote row of cottages is one of the historic reminders of that era, when Fellside was home to copperminers. Now, the cottage has been beautifully renovated, with an original fireplace, wood burning stove and open beams. It has uninterrupted views of the Old Man of Coniston. With numerous fantastic walks from the doorstep, your car need never move all week. Fellside is about a mile above the village of Coniston and is accessed via an unmade road. It sits at the head of Coniston Water, bustling with shops, cafes and pubs. A short drive will take you to Hawkshead and Ambleside. Show more
