Set on the owner’s working farm with sheep and cattle, Felstream Cottage is well presented, and surrounded by acres of woodland and farmland in a spectacular, rural setting. It has panoramic views of both Hadrian’s Wall and a lake (which is a nature reserve) from the patio window, and makes an ideal base for guests wanting to explore the heart of the wild and rugged Northumberland National Park. The cottage is just over a mile from Hadrian’s Wall, which was built by the Romans in 122AD, and is now a World Heritage Site. Within a few miles is Housesteads, the best preserved fort on the wall with spectacular views, and the classic fort of Vindolanda, renowned as one of Europe’s most important archaeological sites, which allows visitors the opportunity to explore Roman life. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
