Bamburgh with its castle overlooking the village is only 8 miles Alnwick also with its castle that was used in the Harry Potter films and the duchess’ enchanting water gardens is 19 miles. The Cottage needs a good deep clean linen and towels were clean well equipted and in a good position for us we did report this to Northumbrian cottages in Alnwick

Having travelled 300 miles, Sandpipers was warm, spacious and welcoming with views of Holy Island and a garden to match. To be extremely picky certain areas of the property would benefit from an upgrade but these were truly minor. The overall experience was one of complete satisfaction, an excellent property in a stunning location whether venturing north, south or inland, treasures await. Thank you for affording us the opportunity.

A fantastic stay in Sandpipers. Beautiful, quiet location, very peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. We were a bit annoyed to have to drive out on our first evening there, in order to find a late opening local shop, because there was no washing up liquid or dish washer tablets in the cottage! The mattress wasn't great, and we both woke with aching backs, but we folded towels under the centre which improved comfort and no more bad back ache! The cottage was clean, though it needed a good "deep clean". Towels and bedding was good quality and freshly laundered. Overall, in spite of these little gripes, we had a wonderfully relaxing break and look forward to going again!

Fabulous cottage in a great location. Perfect for the dogs with a beautiful enclosed garden. 10 minute walk to the wetlands with views of Lindisfarne and lots and lots of birds, Close to the A1 so easy to get to anywhere in the area. Beds were comfy, everything you need. A welcome pack would be nice and a little more info on where to visit in the area (we know Northumberland well but not every visitor will). Wi-Fi router should be moved to the living room.

The location of this cottage is perfect for exploring the Northumberland coastline. The garden is fully enclosed so our dogs were safe to explore outside when we were at the cottage. Sandpipers is comfortable, clean and has all you could wish for in terms of amenities. I would highly recommend and I would definitely revisit.

We had a great week at Sandpipers 3rd-10th August. The views of Holy Island from the cottage are lovely as is the huge well maintained garden. A perfect base for us to explore the coastal path and 2 minute drive to reach the A1 for inland adventures. Cottage was well equipped. We just struggled with lack of hot water on 2 evenings but rectified on Ed stores up again overnight. Belford within easy reach for co-op & we had an Asda delivery. Would recommend.

This is a lovely cottage with a beautiful large enclosed garden ideal for dogs. We would not normally book into a cottage on a complex but this was very private and did not get overlooked by anyone. The location was very peaceful and relaxing but was not too far from main areas to visit both inland and on the coast. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at sandpipers. The location is peaceful and there’s plenty to see and do - Farne islands, Bamburgh, Alnwick, Seahouses are all within easy reach. The house has everything you need and doesn’t have WiFi which is lovely if you want to truly switch off on holiday. I think we’ll be back!
