With central heating and double glazing throughout Fernlea is just right for those cosy winter breaks and the private sheltered south facing garden with furniture and views over towards Grizedale Forest is ideal for enjoying the best of a Lakeland summer. Fernlea offers two full sized off-road parking spaces directly in front of the accommodation which are particularly invaluable in the summer months when parking in Coniston is at a premium.     Well equipped and very clean. Comfy beds but one sofa was 'knackered'. Great location for Coniston town centre , lakes and walks. Very small and dark area at back (unlike photograph) not suitable for sitting out and relaxing or BBQ and WiFi didn't work but that may have been a wider issue.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy flat/cottage - its tucked behind, off the road so its quiet and private. Cosy and warm in the depths of winter with hot shower, warm radiators, heated towel rail, nice duvets etc. Kitchen was well equipped - although much random stuff in cupboards meant that our groceries felt a bit squeezed. ( and as usual, never any good non-stick pans! ) Washing machine, stove, fridge, hairdryer, freezer etc - all equipment was new, clean and worked well. Comfy beds and good linen. Loved the wooden blinds, rather than curtains. Dog friendly too. Nice dining room table for jigsaw puzzles and games. Coniston is fabulous and one of our favourite places in the Lakes - and we could walk from Fernlea to the lake, the cafes, the pub, the fish and chips shop, the grocery store. Driving into Langdale or Ambleside was also easy. Highly recommend this cottage and all it offers.

    What a lovely hidden gem in a beautiful village. The cottage was so warm, clean & welcoming. It has everything you need & every window had it’s own unique view. We stayed there for 3nights & we will definitely be returning. Whether you visit for walking up onto the mountain towns or simply relaxing walks along the lake, you will not be disappointed.

    It was a lovely spacious cottage right in the centre of Coniston. My 86yr old Nan stayed with us & she loved that it was all on the same level. My dog enjoyed it too & loved laying near the radiator to dry off.
